Question for those who've experienced this...

Have anyone experienced sleep paralysis while sleeping on your stomach?

And if not, could someone who experiences this all the time, try sleeping on their stomach and report back?

Reason I ask, is that while this article http://aeon.co/magazine/psychology/the-terror-and-the-bliss-of-sleep-paralysis/ links it to OBE's and lucid dreaming, all those things are blocked if you sleep on your stomach. So I'm curious....

Yes, just yesterday

Reason I ask, is that while this article http://aeon.co/magazine/psychology/the-terror-and-the-bliss-of-sleep-paralysis/ links it to OBE's and lucid dreaming, all those things are blocked if you sleep on your stomach. So I'm curious....

I've had lucid dreams even before i knew the definition of it, and they can be bliss or horror because of intrusive thoughts, however, this happens so often to me and i sleep mostly belly down (although i make an effort to fall asleep belly up)

I've only had sleep paralysis when on my back BUT, I've slept on my back for the last decade because a car accident gave me some muscle issues making it very hard to sleep on my stomach. I didn't have any SP experience before the accident.

As for Lucid dreaming, I've had that on of off my whole life, including periods where I slept exclusively on my stomach.

It happened to me once while I was on my stomach

I have had SP while on my stomach three times. The third being one of my worst "episodes".

I would sleep on my stomach every single night as a child up until adulthood when I started having neck problems, and I got sleep paralysis almost every night until age 16 and often in my twenties.

Yep I've read it usually doesn't happen while sleeping on your stomach. I'm not a stomach sleeper because it's uncomfortable. Only on my back and side. I also experience all three types......visual, hearing and feeling something touching me when I'm laying on my sides.

They say it runs in the family. Both my parents and siblings all experience it.

They also say it's linked to narcolepsy. Odd because I suffer from insomnia.
