shareAgreed! I am so sick of hearing about the French version. I was on the fence about whether or not to watch this version (because I had tried a similar show which I quickly got bored with) until I saw that one of my favorite actors was in this. He is why I tuned in and boy am I glad I did. I happen to like this show.
As for the French version, I had never even known of its existence until the American version came out. All of the people on here going "watch the French version instead, it's better", they just make me want to not watch the French version ever, at all! It feels like that is being shoved down my throat and I don't appreciate it. Something being shoved down my throat tends to make me less likely to like or want anything to do with it!
They're rude, too. They'll insult you for watching the American version then tell you to watch the french one. Them being dicks towards people will not make us want to watch the french version nor hear about it.

Unfortunately, people do this to EVERY remake/adaptation/whatever and it is NON-EFFING-STOP, as it has been with this show. It's usually the case the the original is better anyway. We get it, the original is better and this one deviates, get over it and change the channel. Seems to have been real popular around this board, though.

shareI am in total agreement with you. There can be absolutely no American remake of anything without film/TV snobs going off about how the original was SOOOOO much better. My direction to those people is "don't watch it and shut the f&@k up!"
I mean I have watched and enjoyed foreign film/tv that was remade here and vice versa and just try to appreciate each for what it is. Way to much pretentiousness on imdb boards!
They're the same types of people who love to tell you how they have read all the books in said series. Well good for you! I think they must walk around with an air of superiority because they have discovered this show before us.
By all means go on the French boards if you have an opinion of how good it is, but what's the point in coming on this board to insult us viewers?
