This wasn't very good, but what really ruined it for me was... *spoiler*

*Stop reading, really, I'm going to spoil it*

So, when the father is trying to convince his kid to comeback and is subsequently murdered my his son and the police and corner just come on by, pick up the body and go?

The police don't care that a man had a terribly broken arm and died from trauma caused by what would be considered a fall from a very high place?

There are five adult witnesses and a traumatized child?

Does it not seem suspicious what they are doing there?

After you see the father's corpse being taken away the movie was done for me.

Not to mention how predictable the end was.

And WHY did they have to use that song from last year where they put extreme sports clips in slow motion?

But really, why did the police not care about a possible homicide?

At least in Insidious they did...

Well you are supposed to assume that the vatican had people come and remove the body and cover everything up. It was stated earlier that that is what they did. As for the music it was probably relevant when the movie was made. This sat on the garbage pile for a while.

But there were lights and sirens and the city coroner... Hard to assume.

I think I'm getting older and having less and less tolerance for Hollywood.

The father dying didn't have any lights and sirens, it only showed a glimpse of men in black jackets carrying him out (so really this couldn't have ruined the movie for you as it never happened). There was a police car and ambulance at the end when Dr. Ember jumps. When he is in the ambulance we'd assume the police are talking to everyone back at the crime scene.

maybe they cut out the part where the police say something like "looks like open and closed case of parasite exorcism. They'll have the body out of your way in a minute, but were going to head out now"

I was also wondering how the male assistant knew that the bruises on the main characters arm were from a body guard grabbing him while in the first possessed guys head. and why didn't the little kid puke up black stuff after the parasite thing left him.

reply

The second part (about the black vomit) is probably because Maggie willingly released the child and wasn't forced out (Ember traded himself for the kid and it showed the demon drop him).

I was wondering that too.

And here I thought you were going to say "the ending".

Revenge is the most important meal of the day.

I think they used Sail because this was filmed in 2013. It is super dated though.

Yeah . . . I just finished watching this, and I was bothered by that scene too. Like you, I wondered why the police just left when the father's death was clearly suspicious, and they had a boy locked up in a room. That didn't make sense to me at all.
