Racist?

Is it just me or is this movie amazingly...white male saturated? There is a distinct lack of color in the cast and the movie focuses on two white men mainly. There were a few women in there (Smith's own daughter being one of them) but the characters were nothing to write home about. Smith doesn't strike me as being a christian conservative, but this movie sure feels like it was directed by one.

Yeah true. There are just SO many black people in Canada that it's really odd to not have one represented. Oh wait, there AREN'T! Also, one of the main characters isn't white genius. The female lead is Hispanic.

Even for trolling, that was a sad attempt haha.

reply

And the fact that gay people aren't represented makes the movie homophobic. 

However, I feel we are remiss in not noting what this film is doing for the inter-species community and the sensitivity it shows toward it.

reply

And there are NO redheads. Not even a prostitute! So it's also gingerphobic.

reply

Um...it's in rural Canada. If it was in New Orleans of Harlem then you'd have a point.

reply

So?

reply

It's odd that you noticed that.
However, if you you watched the DVD extras (under Director Comments) Kevin Smith discusses, in detail, how he feels ethnic people can't act. Thus he opted not to use any. So... hmm.

I would made a big deal about it but thought the whole movie was absurd and feel any race would be thankful not to be a part of it.

But that's me.

I'd have to watch the extra's to confidently call you a troll.

In defense of the movie, the're was at least one black person involved in the making of that suit. There were some patches of black skin scattered in prominent places, like a morbid token of political correctness.

Is that enough black for you, OP? Or should the suit have had at least 50% black patches?

Um, instead of watching the DVD extras, let me save you some time.
You could follow this link:

or...

Let me save you even more time and let you in on our little secret...
My comment was entirely sarcasm. I'm making fun of "Liberal_Genious" and possibly you.

Kevin Smith never said anything of the sort and it would be ludicrous to even believe that he might.

Off topic: I have a bridge in San Fransisco you may like to purchase. Let me know if you are interested. 

If you're mimicking the OP's ridiculousness so truthfully, no smiley, and HE's all serious, how should I be able to tell you two apart, humor-wise?

Sarcasm on the internet is like winking on the phone.

The rest of my reply was directed at the OP (who is possibly an actual troll, there's always that one racism-caller in every movie board - "12 Years a Slave" is probably full of them) and anyone who agrees with him, as you seemed to do.

Now about that bridge... do you accept bitcoin? :)

reply

"do you accept bitcoin? :)"

I still accept greenstamps! :)

...you're obviously a troll posing as an ultra PC liberal.
Anyways, to be serious, I thought you were gonna talk about Wallace doing a fake hispanic accent to mock his girlfriend.

reply

Dude, there were like 7 actors in the entire movie, and it took place almost entirely in Canada. Would it have pleased you if a random black guy just walked across the screen so Smith could meet your made-up quota?

reply

Take that racist *beep* and find the utmost darkest reaches of your ass and shove them up there. *beep* moron.

reply

Tusk is extremely racist for not having any Black characters, when everybody knows that Canada is Blacker than Haiti eh.
