Is it really that bad?

I've seen all of Kevin Smith's movies except for this one and this movie started off with a decent score on here, but now I'm seeing nothing but hate for it and I'm wondering if it's really that bad. Is it really worse than Cop Out? I doubt it. I just don't think it will be a 1/10 movie like many of the reviewers of this site are making it out to be. It just seems like people are hating it because it's different from everything else he's done. Red State was different and while that isn't his best work it's still a good movie. Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe the movie does suck, but I don't think it will be a 1/10. It just cannot be that bad!

Bad as in 'awful film' or bad as in 'gory and disgusting'?
I don't think it's bad in either sense. None of the gore or brutality etc bothered me one bit. The people saying it was upsetting or disgusting need to watch more horror movies.
As for it being a bad movie? There are a lot fo brilliant ideas here, but the pacing of the second half kinda ruined it for me a bit.Depp's character doesn't entirely fit and his scenes just slowed the whole film down for me. I enjoyed it

It's OK, not great. Nowhere near as good as Red State, but way, way WAY better than Cop Out!

I thought it was ok but I wouldn't consider it a good horror film mainly because it just isn't realistic enough to be scary and while it has comedic moments it's just not that funny either although I did enjoy the kill bill kid, the ending makes no sense whatsoever and I think it actually makes this film less scary, if they had tried to help him afterwards take him out of the suit and reconstruct what's left of his body then I think it would have been much darker, the lack of realism is what spoiled it for me, as far as Kevin Smith movies go i'd say this is far from his best.
