Just like 'The Americans'?
I just saw a promo for the first time about this, and it looks strikingly similar to The Americans on FX. I don't think I have room for another one.
shareIs it a coincidence that the actors last name in both The Americans and The Assets is the same? Are they related? Neither of their bio's mention a relation. Both actors are also from Wales. You'd think they were somehow related.

I don't know all the family members in their families, but Matthew Rhys's real last name is Evans.
He drops that for his stage name. Rhys is his middle name.
My impression is that Paul Rhys is really named Rhys.
Technically, there are so many Rhys and Williams, Evans and Jones in Wales that putatively one presumes they could all be related from back in the time of the tribes of Wales who were always fighting to keep the English out.
But Rhys is a very special name to give boys, because it's a tribute to their history of the great leader and fighter named Rhys who took on the English.
When you are in Wales, you hear the tales of the great Rhys, and there are monuments and such. Folks are named Rhys more in honor of a great Welsh hero against the English king than because they are related.
Though the joke in Wales is that everybody's related somehow, same name or not, because it's always been such a separate and somewhat isolated country within the realm.
Interesting History. But let me ask, does that mean it is, or isn't a coincidence that two actors named Rhys, who both come from Wales, are cast as actors in separate tv shows playing secret spies For the Soviet Union?
