Alternative Breaking Bad Spin offs?

What other Breaking Bad character, besides Saul do you think could have made for a better spin off show?

reply

I don't know. I think this is pretty much the end of the road for the BB universe. As I've said before, I don't think VG has any desire to turn it into a never ending series of spin offs sequel's etc ala TWD (God forbid!) He seems to be smart enough to know that would ruin it. Leave well enough alone.

Badger and skinny Pete into a 30 min. sitcom.

IN WITH FLINT...WALT'S SON GOING TO COLLEGE AND GETTING MIXED UP IN SOME SHIT.

There was a story last year about RJ Mitte pitching an idea to Vince Gilligan for a sequel in which his character becomes a meth cook/kingpin himself. Don't think it was really taken seriously as I haven't heard anything else about it since then.

reply

They could do something completely different with the character like being a vigilante.

Attacking his enemies with breakfast cereal....?

reply

No. Like putting people on mailing lists and stuff.

How about Jr goes after his uncle's footsteps and becomes a DEA agent.

And maybe his sister becomes a cook/kingpin. Thanks to Jesse.

A lot of fan theories put forth that if the Heisenberg legacy is revived, it'll be Holly White.

Other possibilities:
- Jesse's new life
- a reboot in the far future with Walt's daughter
- a prequel about young Gus Fring

Walter Jr's Billion Dollar Breakfasts!

I don't think any other character in the show was as ripe for a spin-off as Saul. He stole every scene he was in, and was one the best parts of Breaking Bad. Moreover, very few interesting characters survived. Beyond Jesse, who already had a sequel film, only fairly minor characters made it out alive. Hank's dead, and nothing about him suggested he had an interesting life before Breaking Bad. Gus Fring and Mike Ehrmantraut both died, and we're getting their backstories along with Saul's, though Mike and Gus' moments are my least favorite parts of Better Call Saul. Neither could support a spin-off as the lead. Who does that leave? Does anyone care what Walt's wife is up to post Breaking Bad? I wouldn't mind a 10-minute sequence of her trapped under a streetcar screaming in pain, but even that karmic reward can only go so far.

I think anything beyond what we've gotten thus far (with BCS, & then El Camino) would be really stretching it. Leave well enough alone.

This isn't The Walking Dead.........😀

A Skyler & Marie spinoff show would be hilarious, just imagine the crazy antics they'd get up to each week. Skyler could find herself being investigated by the IRS for covering up Beneke's and Marie could fall back into her shoplifting phase all over again. And don't you dare throw a pizza on their house!

reply

Nah. No more spin offs sequals Leave well enough alone!

Like I said: this isn't The Walking Dead!!

Most of the interesting characters were killed off so I think Saul was probably the best character. I think a show with Jesse, Badger and Skinny Pete would have been interesting. It could have been a cool stoner comedy like the Pineapple Express movie or they couldn't have gotten back in the drug business.

I think Jesse's post-BB story should have been a series instead of a movie. That's the only other spin-off I really wanted.
