Chauvinistic movie.

I'm a dude and even I was embarrassed by the sexist dialogue. Also, lots of male gaze. Disappointing from a director like Richard Linklater

It was chauvinistic the same way a movie about black slaves would be racist. As someone who was born and raised in the 80s/90s, Id say this was very accurate. Should they have abandoned the accuracy in favor of today's political flavor of the month? What would you have changed about it?

It's a movie about college baseball players in 1980...

Don't like it? Too bad, then don't watch it, snowflake.

"This movie wasn't made for youuuuuu!"

I guess I should search “male gaze.” Lol

reply

It's not a new concept. Have you never read film analysis?

reply

I guess your quite right. It seems it’s feminist theory first made popular in 1972.

You're not a ‘dude’ you’re a woke cultist who has been programmed to despise normal, healthy sexual dynamics. This film portrayed a time when men and women actually liked each other, and used their genitals instead of hacking them off. Why? Because Richard Linklater is sane, healthy and normal.

Pretty spot on. I hope the poor flake wasn't too traumatized by the movie's "male gaze".

Fucking cringe 🤦🏻‍♂️

reply

Nope, just an accurate portrayal of college life in 1980! Another great film from my favorite director...

You think Everybody Wants Some was great? It really fell flat to me. I was maybe expecting too much
