Why the producers chose these two unpleasant-looking actresses, particularly the ginger one, is beyond me. It's as if the producers are trying to make some point that eludes me. If they wanted believably strong yet decent-looking females they should have gone with Gina Carano or Katee Sackoff.

To be fair Katee Sackhoff and Kate Kennedy are comparable. I just remember Sackhoff looking not too shabby in Occulus and know she had an action role in Riddick, that's why I suggested her. But the casting of Natasha Culzac, the redhead, is puzzling to me. The producer could even have gone with someone like Gwendoline Christie (Brienne from Game of Thrones) if they wanted a big woman who can stand shoulder to shoulder with the male Spartans.

shareVery rare to see attractive females in elite squads. There is a reason they put down the makeup and are battle hardened to the core. Women are fine in this show since the Spartan Armor gives them the extra power they need to kick butt. That and they've taken the role of agility and light weaponry or sniper from afar.
