Convoluted garbage

Heard decent things about this but in the end it was such a let down , despite a somewhat promising first half hour or so.

I didn't even find the first half to be promising. Maybe the first quarter? I like when they first enter Hugh Grant's place and realise he's off, as he uses blueberry candles and feigns having a wife etc. But then he goes into a lecture for 25 minutes, which drags. And then go into the basement, where the audience can barely see because of the extreme darkness. This movie isn't good

reply

It was dark but everything was still clear. Sounds like a problem on your end.

Everything was not clear

Blame the film. No surprises there.

If your source is original and your tv has good black levels and contrast, you shouldn't have any problems. If your source is downloaded somewhere, which most likely would be compressed file, or your tv is a budget tv, you may have issues. There are quite a few variables as to why you may have struggled with those dark scenes.

reply

This is what the movie looks like. I have a 2023 Vizio. I have had no issues with darkness in any other movie

Do you dispute that the movie looks like this?

The problem is you. Accept it.

reply

No. The problem is the movie. The evidence is right here: https://ibb.co/sFfd6kb

No one else seems to have that problem, just you and maybe a couple others who downloaded the same dodgy copy.🤔

reply

Yes, I do dispute it. You obvious don't have deep blacks in your vizio, which btw, is a budget brand. Their outfits are not dull like that on my Samsung. When I'm home today, I will try and get a screen shot today of what I see with this same scene.

This is the same frame from a phone. It’s still dark here. It has nothing to do with my Vizio, which is one of the top brands in this country. If I have to get a special Tv or adjust settings just for this one movie (and no other movie), then the problem is with this movie

Vizio is a top selling brand because it's budget. My samsung isn't special, it's budget too since it's Qled, not Oled. But it still produces a better picture than what you're showing. Why are you trying to convince others that they should have the same issues as you? That's funny. LOL! I will show you what I see today when I get home.

Here's essentially the same scene. Her outfit has more contrast, white blouse pops. To the left of flashlight, you can see wall details. My source isn't original. It's a compressed 2 gb file. I'm not using an original source, and I'm not having any issues watching this. So perhaps, the TV is the variable? But wait a minute... if you're getting the same image from a phone, then it's not your tv or your phone. You just have a bad copy.
