Considering the hype if this movie opens under 100million opening weekend I will die of shock.
shareThat's probably a pretty good estimate, but I'm gonna be optimistic and say..
Opening weekend: 165 million
North American Total: 525 million
Worldwide total: 1.3 billion
I think this movie is going to do better than expected. There is a lot of hype already and their promotion so far is on point. The key demographic is totally covered. Nostalgia is a powerful thing. Finding Dory made 135m opening weekend. I obviously don't think it's going to beat Jurassic World or Star Wars, but I'm pretty confident BatB it can beat Finding Dory. A lot will depend on good word of mouth too. We shall see :)

you all keep forgetting that this movie is princess chick movie and wont get the male audience. I am sure some mothers will force there boys to see it and some adult men will be forced to see it with there girl friends or wives. I will bet you any thing that this wont make as much money as you all think. Not because it is a bad film but because it will not get a lot of the male audience.
shareThere are numerous films out there that are targeted at a certain audience that fare well at the BO. Finding Dory was targeted at a certain audience and went on to become the highest grossing animated film of last year. Bottom-line is this film will make money.
shareI'm sure the movie will be good, but it's RT rating will be higher than it deserves. It will probably be overly praised with a RT score of at least 90% when it really deserves an upper 70s% rating.
shareOpening $80 million
Domestic $250 million
Worldwide $700 million
Oh poor thing. Your hatred for this film is really making you blind. No way it will only end at 700m WW
shareYou're probably fairly close on the opening, but it might have more retention per week.
There is significant nostalgia for the film, but I don't think it has anywhere near the draw of the absolutely obsessed Star Wars fanbase, who would go to a film featuring nothing but the Millennium Falcon flying in circles overhead while Darth Vader hacks up a bunch of grade schoolers with his lightsaber.
As someone has mentioned before...this is primarily a draw for females and will not have the 4-quadrant appeal and draw to produce some of the laughably high projections listed here. It will probably get well above $100 million OW(but not guaranteed), but over $400 million domestic total and over $1.2 billion worldwide?
Ha ha...no.
If Finding Dory can have an OW of 135 million and finish WW over a billion, then I'm certain this movie can as well. I think you are highly underestimating the nostalgia factor. Finding Dory was basically a kids movie..a few younger adults might have gone just for old times sake, but I can't imagine too many men going to see it on their own. BatB has the advantage of being a family film and the perfect "date" movie. I can see a lot of chicks bringing their bfs to see this. It covers a lot of bases. BaTB is one of Disney's best films critically and it still has a huge fan base. Just look at the social media buzz alone. The trailer had 127 million views in just 24 hours..that's more than The Force Awakens. Of course, not everyone who watched the trailer is going to see the movie in theaters, but it is a good indicator of the level of interest this movie is garnering.
It's gonna make a *beep* ton of money… Ton of young adults will say it's the best thing since grated cheese…. It will fall apart to scrutiny after it's been out for a couple of weeks, mainly by people who understand film and were able to purchase a ticket to watch the original in Theaters...
