Ant (spoiler)

In the original movie it is revealed that the killers “son” ( named Abel there ) wasn’t actually their own kid.

The plot goes that the father, instead of the kids in the remake, discovers several photos of the victims with the killer couple in Italy. The twist is that you see several kids happy with their real family and then in the next chronological photo they are with the killer couple. The killers systematically kidnapped and cut the tongue off of the kids of their murder victims and then take them with them to Italy to create the facade of a happy family in order to lure in a new family and continue their spree cycle.

In this version there isn’t that reveal so are we to assume that Ant is actually their real son?

BTW I wanted to cheer out loud when Ant stoned James Mcavoy to death!, such a well earned moment ! That was a great change from the original.

(Spoilers) No, he's not their son. In the scene where Ant shows Agnes the album book, the last photo showed Ant with his real family. Also, the note he passed to Agnes was written in Danish, a further indication that he was not their real son but was from Denmark and had Danish parents.

Thank you, I missed that !

Yeah , as stated : this came out in the basement scene where he shows the girl the photo album. Ant points at a man in the photo, and the daughter says, “is he [your father]?” Ant shakes his head to say yes. I think this scene was hard to miss

he tells the girl that he's not their kid. Most important scene in the movie.
