Mostly because James Spader is in it. Wow, what a great job he's doing with this character! Love all the little, very distinct quirks and mannerisms.

shareI've watched The Blacklist from the beginning. Haven't missed an episode. James Spader is phenomenal as Reddington. As you will see, there are so many twists and turns in the series. Reddington is such a baddy...no compunction in killing someone. He's the character we hate to love. Just never cross him! The series is complex and at times hard to get the gist of, but it will hold you due to Spader. There was a spin-off for a few weeks this year called "Redemption". Binge watch The Blacklist then onto Redemption. Another good series is "Hell On Wheels" definitely adult material. Also, "The Americans" a good espionage theme for Mature Audiences. There are some risqué scenes. Good Show...

Thanks for letting me know about the spin-off, too. My best friend recently told me about Hell on Wheels, which I started watching last night. It is a little rough to watch, but very well done. Tried The Americans, but couldn't get into it.
Just to let you know, in case you don't, I checked Netflix for The Blacklist. It's available for streaming. I can't recall if you have Netflix. I'm aware you don't have cable.
