Adam Driver cast as Young Neil McCauley!

Unsure of the fit.

No, not a good fit!

Somebody surely loves this Driver guy in Hollywood. I'm fed up with this guy.

I’ll be the odd one out, I think it’s a great fit!
He can pull off a similar look, young or old, as I think Mann will have multiple timelines running throughout, and imo has the acting chops and on screen charisma to fill De Niro’s shoes.

I don't know what anyone sees in this wooden actor..

That should make the 1995 movie "Heat 2" since it's a sequel to this movie.

Anyways, Driver is pushing 40 which would would mean this movie takes place in the early 80s LA. I never read the book, but I'm assuming it's just a retread with all of the known characters, but cast with younger faces.

Driver just doesn't have the pathos that DeNiro brings to Neil.

Tom Cruise/Jack Reacher all over again.

Yep, let's cast an actor that looks nothing like the original character (Driver is also 6 2 and De Niro 5 10).

This clearly indicates the most important casting decision in this role is based on the hot flavor of the day instead of authenticity.

There is this one young actor out there who looks exactly like a young De Niro; he would have been perfect. I can't recall his name, but he was in some sort of crime limited series or movie a short time back.

Back in mid December, movie blog The Film Stage reported that Heat 2 — per “strong sources,” in their words — was moving forward at Warner Bros., and has been allocated a “big” (their italics) budget. What's more? It's garnered appreciable interest among many of the present moment's hottest stars, from The Bear's Jeremy Allen White — who, it has to be said, must do a killer Al Pacino impression, and certainly has the face for it — to hunkinator Channing Tatum.
