shareYes and most people here will hate for saying this but I would prefer to go the easier way most do it today as opposed trying it 50, or even just 20 years ago.
I am NOT a mountain climber and I am not an outdoorsman, but the surrealism of PHYSICALLY ACTUALLY being on the very highest place on the entire planet would be mind boggling.
Let me kind of correct what I said above, I would love to climb it the old fashioned way, but I probably wouldn't be physically capable. I'd still jump at the chance to go to the top though, and even still take my chances at making it up myself.
I would love to but given how many have died because of it, NO.
Lose the Game!!!!!!!
Jon Krauker has said that climbing Mt. Everest was one of the biggest mistakes he's ever made and totally not worth it.

Absolutely. It's the ultimate goal. Self justification, adoration, fulfilment. It's the complete package.
shareIt is not for me but I understand why many people go for it.
share*I* don't, but then, I'm not a mountaineer...
"Your mother puts license plates in your underwear? How do you sit?!"
For me, heck no, but I don't have any desire to climb a mountain.
For those that have this dream, more power to them.
It's the same with anything.
Time wounds all heels.
Not for me, no, but I'm not into climbing. I mean I love to hike, and I don't have a particular fear of heights....unless they're dangerous, if that makes sense. I don't fear flying on a commercial airline, but I fear being on a sheer cliff where I could easily fall to my death.
