Season 2: Boring. Nothing to do with the book, no Dan Simmons input. PC tripe.

I just watched episode one and I really cannot understand the purpose for making Season 2. Why bother to keep the name "The Terror?" Very misleading. It has nothing at all to do with Simmons' novel. Simmons has no input whatsoever as far as I can tell.

The story is SO slow and dull and un-scary and I don't like or care about any of the characters at all except George Takei's old "tuna boxer". And of course, we have to have the evil nasty oppressive white people around to remind us all how terrible and irredeemable they are.

I was hooked on the original adaption last year about 5 minutes into episode one. It began with such an oppressive and unfamiliar setting. One of the best miniseries I have ever seen. I am not going to bother with the rest of this season.

This is the last season of The Terror, mark my words.

It's totally different but pretty gripping. I understand it's not everyone's cup of tea. Not all embrace change, right?

Losing one's job, being diagnosed with a terminal illness or being involved in a serious automobile accident also involve change.

Change is not always made in a positive direction, and should not necessarily be embraced simply because it is new and different.

I'm enjoying it so far also. They are doing it just like American Horror Story, a different story every season. No big deal that they kept the name of the show the same IMO.

HAHA....PC? Much of it, aside from the horror aspects, is based on history. Yeah, Americans did imprison most the west coast Japanese and Japanese Americans......but it was worse than they showed in many respects. You likely missed the part where they received reparations when leaving the camp, a mere $25 per person, which ignored the fact that they pretty much lost everything they owned.

As for the horror aspects, yes, it's a bit slow. But it's also much more about the social horrors they faces as Americans in wartime.

? But that's unavoidable. Imagine North Korea attacking the US. No doubt that anyone with an Asian complexion would be disadvantaged immediately, no matter how many generations they were US citizens.

It was a different era, and somewhat different country. I doubt we would go back to that again, but am sure there would be lots of racist type attacks (like now). People are stupid

No, we didn't. That's how inflammatory the liberal press was. There's too many checks and balances for that to happen without some major disaster or emergency. Even during WW2 it wasn't close. The only time I know of where it was possible was during Kennedy's presidency, at least according to my grandfather (Navy lifer), who said there were serious threats of a coup.
