I'm Happy They Cancelled It Because...

had this show been more successful it would have gone on too long and its episodes would have been diluted just like Lost. Three seasons is enough for this concept but had the ratings been great HBO would have wanted more and the creators would not have turned down the paychecks even if they knew the show would suffer from stretching it too long. I enjoyed season one, but season two had too few good episodes and this taught me that the show would have been terrible had it tried to go on longer. Now they have the chance to go all in on all the remaining episodes.

I agree. And because it's only 3 seasons, I can see myself watching this series over and over. Can't wait for season 3.

reply

I would have preferred five seasons myself, to let them tell the story fully. But whatever.

reply

I would've preferred more seasons myself. There are so few good TV shows to watch, the more episodes the better. If the quality of the show happens to decline, then hey, guess what, you can always just stop watching.

Not that I believe the quality would have declined for many more years, the shows has limitless plot possibilities.

You're not suppose to go full retard.

reply

but season two had too few good episodes
You're really the last person who should be calling anyone retarded.

reply

Anyone who would think that a show they like is better going on to the point that its quality serious diminishes rather than have a shorter higher quality run is an idiot. Ask fans of Scrubs how that kind of thinking worked out as they try to ignore the last few seasons and outright ignore the existence of that God awful ABC med school disaster. I would rather see a show not suffer from diluted seasons and or end with good riddance rather than fond goodbye. This show's concept can not sustain too many long in between seasons that stretch out the eventual answer to what happened and the reason why. 3 seasons is long enough.

reply

Who the hell are you to know how many seasons it will take for a show to decline in quality. What illusions of grandeur you have, you fooking idiot moron retard.

I know that it took this show only two seasons to decline in quality and be told to wrap it up you f'cktard!

reply

Wow, you have no clue, do you? Season 2 has been universally described as being one of the best seasons of any show, ever. Season 2 is 10x better than season 1, and has been on numerous "best of lists". Just search, and you'll see.

You sir, don't know *beep*

By who, you? Maybe some industry shill magazine like People or a puppet paid off unkown critic looking to be quoted? To even make a statement this insanely stupid goes to show the level of stupidity some fans will stoop to when defending something they like. Not only was sesson 2 a disappointment, but now add in the fact that when all is over this show will be mostly forgotten like so many other quickly cancelled shows that struggled. I could not imagine how large of a list we would need before season 2 of The Leftovers appears as one of the greatest seasons for a TV show ever but I'm sure that in your insane mind it would be listed higher than any season of Breaking Bad. I bet your list would include the one and only season of that $h!tfest The Event, especially considering you thought that this quickly cancelled show knocked it out of the park.

^No, you retarded loser, there are many people who consider S2 of The Leftovers to be the best thing on television last year. Your thread is an epic fail, just like yourself. Please give it up before you embarrass yourself further.

You sure don't know *beep* man. Seriously? Season 2 is hailed as one of the best seasons of any show ever, by pretty much everyone. Can't you read news? Do you live under a stone?

Take a look at this. Here, I've done the job for you: "Season two received critical acclaim. On Metacritic, it has a score of 80 out of 100 based on 22 reviews, indicating "generally favorable reviews". Rotten Tomatoes gave the second season a rating of 93% with an average score of 8.7 out of 10 based on 32 critic reviews."

Your whole thread is a fail man. You really embarass yourself. Big time.

Also, if you watch the ratings for the episodes of season 2, they are rated MUCH higher by fans too, not only by critics.

Seriously dude. Do your homework before posting a *beep* thread.

Agreed!! Season one was very good but season 2! OMG! Was just absolutely amazing! Only just heard it is being cancelled after series 3 and wish it would go on a couple more tbh

Three seasons are fine. There is only so much one can get out of the story without making it appear convoluted, fleeing into silly montages and making things weird for the sake of being weird.
The first season had a wonderful straightforward concept with little room to just do stuff, without some cop out to religious mumbo jumbo or some purgatory or whatever. The second season already slipped into the direction of Lost: just things happening and seemingly supernatural elements. I hope they will get back to a real story and deal with the pain of loss and not with crappy visions of an afterlife or whatever.

reply

Yea this kind of story doesn't need to go on for 5 more years. 3 seasons is plenty. Never understood how people could cling to shows for so long or why they need 10+ seasons to be satisfied.

reply

To be fair, it didn't get cancelled. It just announced it is going into it's final season before hand. Cancelling would mean it was done after season 2 with no final season.

I am you and what I see is me.

reply

Not cancelled, just finished.
