Not for stereotypical American audience
...it wasn't flawless, not at all, but when you read these complaints, it's really something. One guy even wanted more "punch lines". For god's sake, go watch some Marvel/DC annual *beep* or whatever.

shareand as with every film ever released .... there is this guy.
Midnight Special was crap. They intentionally leave out information to make it suspenseful, but that only works when the characters are on the same level as the viewer; learning as you are learning so that they are relatable. The father knew everything but intentionally spoke cryptic dialog. That is *beep* writing that you would see in an Unsolved Mysteries episode. The movie was slow, boring and a waste of time.
To the writer: If you want to make a film about a father's love and coming to terms with losing his son, then make that film, but don't jerk my dick around by slowly feeding me incomplete information; you aren't clever. I want my time back.
The movie made me feel something. I didn't learn anything new, I didn't laugh, but I felt something.
Many people want all movies to be a list of ticked checkboxes (one of which is a mandatory human torch), they'll be disappointed and it's their loss really.
I love how whenever a group of people doesn't like a movie, someone uses it as an opportunity to say that Americans are "dumb" or something. XD
Dude, plenty of people in other countries didn't exactly "love" this one either.
yeah like the title said this movie is for special retarded people who stay up until midnight
