Easily one of the worst comedies I've ever seen.

I went into this expecting something at least on-par with Ted (while not being a cinematic masterpiece, it's plot made sense and there were a few laughs throughout). Instead I left wishing I could get my money back. I refuse to walk out of movies; I believe that I can't truly criticize something if I haven't seen it all the way through, but this was a struggle. I'm sure I'll get bashed for 'not getting the humor' and I realize I'm not 17 anymore, but I can't understand how anyone who knows what good movies are can think this is even remotely funny. I loved the premise, but the movie itself just didn't do it for me. I can laugh at the occasional fart joke, but these were terrible. If you're going to make a two-hour poop joke, at least have the decency to write a plot that makes sense. This felt like it was a bunch of jokes that his friends assured him were funny with no one but himself to critique it, then he slapped them all into a movie with a loose plot that he hoped would pass for a movie.

i dont know if id call it the worst comedy ever made but it could be the least funny one.... i mean i was able to finish watching the movie but thinking back i cant remember one really funny part

Nah, I knew it wasn't going to be as good as Ted. I had low expectations. This is the first time he's truly acted, not voice acted, right? I wasn't expecting much. Hopefully he doesn't quit on it though and just gets better over time, because I really enjoy his humour.

I loved this movie and I laughed my ass off. And I will be buying this when it comes out on Blu-Ray.

Age doesn't matter when one enjoys a movie.

You're one to talk, saying a lame R-rated movie's for kids over and over and over again.

Really not very bright....

I liked Ted.
I like Family guy sometimes.
But this...this wasn't good.
It may have been better with
a different lead (not Seth)
but I doubt it. I don't think
anyone could have made this
script funny.

I don't see how tailoring a movie for 12-year olds would really hold up in the box office. Seeing as they couldn't even get into the movie without their parents, whom I'm assuming wouldn't even want to watch this garbage. His comedy and movies are more typically geared toward the college aged kids, and people who still think that stuff is funny into their twenties.

reply

No way this was for 12 year-olds. All the swearing and Silverman's character puts this at the youngest 16. I would say it's more for stoner college students that will laugh at the same joke for 2 hours.

You don't seem very bright. Do us all a favor and stop posting.

See, you've just proven my point that you're not that bright. You're as dumb as a box o'rocks, son. You're taking up valuable bandwidth your stupid posts. Got it....chief?

My god, I just wanted it to stop. However I was committed to see it through... It wasn't worth it.

There was a handful of cheap laughs but overall I found this a difficult watch.

reply

You didn't like it because you're an idiot and can't find joy in anything. You're only hope for pleasure is the sweet embrace of death.

Cardboard Box is the Future.

reply

No, I didn't like it because it was an all-around terrible film.

reply

This.

reply

exactly, and it just went on and on with no funny jokes, nothing. this is an unwatchable comedy that no one should have to watch. totally unfunny and totally boring.

His writing just didn't adapt to live action very well. And like everyone else, he hates big butts. LOL

Heh! Strange, I thought it was funnier than Ted. I quite like that Family Guy humour and my favourite character is Brian so this film was basically a long Family Guy episode featuring Brian and I loved the BTTF movie reference regardless of the time line "goof".
A shame about the swearing though, as I would love it for my eldest son (12 years) to watch it with me. But then again one of my favourite films is Blazing Saddles.
One of my favourite Romcoms this year.

I agree Andrew. I was pleasantly surprised by how funny this movie was. I didn't have many expectations since Ted was so awful, but I laughed a lot throughout. Ted was the equivalent of Ass:The Movie from Idiocracy.
