It wasn't a racist joke, it was a joke about how racist people were back in the 1800s.

Uhm, yes, the jokes were offensive. That's the point. How can you make an offensive joke without being offensive? But first and foremost they are jokes. Have you ever watched stand-up comedians? A lot of them make racist and offensive jokes and people are fine with that. Comedy Central is a liberal channel, and still is full of offensive humour.

Some Arabs are Jewish & some are Christian.
I does seem like an oxymoron -- that's the humor -- how is it offensive?

Most Arabs were Christian many centuries ago before Islam spread by invasions & forced conversion or death, & then there is dhimmitude.

 

Don't understand how people get offended

I'm a catholic and I laugh at catholic jokes, same with Jew jokes and other religions

And people get offended by racism, I am white and it doesn't bother me if black people call me the N word it just rolls off me, dunno why they are offended. It's just words
