"Toxic" 🤣
shareThere was stuff I didn't care for with TLJ but my god, how the moonbats really had ruined the fandom.
shareThe "toxic fandom" that everyone's talking about are not Star Wars fans. They're trolls from various troll farm factions (Alt Right, MRA, NeoNazi, Incel) who never, ever watched any of the movies and have been using IPs like Star Wars and Star Trek to indoctrinate tweens and kids on YouTube with their agendas.
Some of them are Russian troll farmers. I know that because I've caught some of these so-called "fans" making obvious mistakes about characters that no American would ever make. For example, even if you had never watched Star Wars a day in your life, you most likely are aware that Samuel L. Jackson and Billy Dee Williams were part of the franchise. Yet you're claiming to have been a "lifelong fan" and are now ranting that because John Boyega is in the latest movies, the franchise has gone "full blown SJW".
Yes something peculiar is going on. This level of animosity over a film and its actors is not remotely normal behaviour.
I think its a mixture of the two , like a venn diagram with an overlapping cross section.
You've got the alt-right mysoginist, incel, nazis on one hand , such as we see on the board for the new Terminator film,
and then on the other hand we've got the militant Star Wars "manbabies" determined to hate any new star wars film because it isnt the same as when they saw their first Star wars film as a kid, and blame Disney
And then theres those that are in both camps
Where's the proof of this? How do you know they are "alt-right mysoginist, incel, nazis" exactly? Pray elaborate as detailed as possible.
sharewell , to get the full picture you have to go to the board of a recent film with one or more women in the lead , and then read the crazed rantings about how hollywood is crushing the white man under its jackboots.
Note the repeated tropes and phrases, like
"pc gone mad"
"SJW"
"Agenda Pushing"
"mary sue"
note the usernames too , and eventually you pick up the patterns
The "terminator - Dark Fate" is a good one , as is the new Ghostbusters I'd imagine
I went to the Terminator page and I don't see what you're saying. You'd have to direct me to something more concrete to prove this and prove it with multiple posts.
When it comes to these terms that you quoted, am I going to see these claims in a movie like Alien, Gone with the Wind, The Wizard of Oz, or Elizabeth? All those movies have women as the main protagonist.
no you wont see those claims on old films , as that would prove the msygonists wrong.
Look at this post from "Avortac"
Well, technically, all terminators are completely genderless, so they're neither androids nor gynoids, let alone androgynoids.
As to 'why' anything in a SJW-centered 'movie', whose main point is to shove fema-fascism, misandry, man-shaming and all this other crap into a crappy-looking, colorless and gloomy, visionless cash-grabber-claptrap, you can ask hollyweird.
I miss the days when story was the center of a movie, and anything else happened to support the story.
Nowadays SJW agenda is the center, and whatever 'story' they hap-hazardly crap around it has to support the agenda.
I don't agree with the entire post you quoted, but I don't disagree with it in total either.
First of all, the article you quoted, is clearly opinion based. On top of that, it's an article in defense of a previous article he wrote. In writing his article he insults the demographic that disagrees with him. Thus, as a paid writer, he brings himself down to level of slinging mud. I find that extremely unprofessional and I discount him as a paid writer.
When it comes to Terminator: Dark Fate to make a movie where the heroes are all female and the villain is male, yet doesn't have to resemble a male, given the times we currently live in and deny the optics of an agenda being pushed i think is ignorant.
If we twisted it and said all the heroes were white and the villain was a black female, but doesn't have to be a black female, would you see an agenda being pushed then?
When it comes to the things you quoted:
Is there a legitimate argument that Rey is a Mary Sue?
With KK stating that "The Force is Female" is there an argument that Star Wars under her watch has trended toward pushing an agenda?
And also, is there an argument of SJW culture is in Disney Star Wars?
If you say yes to anyone of these, then those terms are valid issues for posters to vent complaints.
If you say yes to some and no to others, I'd like to hear why.
Remember, nobody is going to say Dorothy or Scarlett O'Hara is a Mary Sue, not because those are old movies, but because they don't fit the definition of a Mary Sue and yet they are both protagonists of their respective stories.
Why take the old movies?
We have newer movies with examples of strong women and not mary sues or ideologically pushed. Like Wonder Woman. Or Black Widow (and it's funny how the PC culture HAD to bring mary sue captain marvell in the franchise to "empower women", lol).
Or one of my favorite characters in a sci-fi movie: Private Vasques in Aliens. And of course the kicking ass Weaver in the same movie.
The movie industry is full of female heroes done right. Even Leia in the original SW.
I agree. The point is that a good story with a strong female lead doesn't require a woke metoo movement for the people to accept them. These older movies proves the point more.
sharemaybe they are correct, and you are the one that is dead wrong... your IQ is just to low so you can't see it. could that be a possibility
shareThose are hardly the kind of terms I would associate with any of those groups.
Saying pc gone mad means you're a nazi does it? That's a laughable conclusion at best.
Basically anyone who doesn't like the DT is a member of those groups, right?
Just proof that for some people there is no justifiable criticism of anything in the DT.
Don't worry, the name slingers will never figure it out, and the studios are losing their ass on all this at the rate of $100+ million per film.
The funniest thing is that the studios are continuing to support the groups that don't spend money to see their crap, while trying to shame their former core audience into continued support.
It's a joy to watch to watch the studios destroy themselves.
"You've got the alt-right mysoginist, incel, nazis on one hand , such as we see on the board for the new Terminator film"
no doubt, mysoginist, incel, nazis are just all over this place....anyone hating on dark fate and SW has to be one of those 3, or why not all 3 at the same time........ thank goodness we have people like you to spot them. so, how many times DID you go see dark fate ?.....
😆 🤣
🖕🏽
I dont have to see it to know that anyone apoplectic with rage that there isnt a white man in the lead role is one or all of those 3.
There are plenty of Star Wars fans who are toxic. They exaggerate every perceived flaw they can and and the assumed cause in order to ensure that it is imposed on the agenda whenever the saga is discussed.
People that are afraid of being on the wrong side of history tend to shout loudest. So even those with only a mild disappointment feel compelled to express their sense of ownership and the illegitimacy of those who actually own the material now.
They're not toxic in the sense that the author in the OP's link are talking about. Those toxic fans are the ones making fun of George Lucas's neck fat or calling him names or turning around and trashing his entire career.
The OP is talking about the racists and misogynists who do things like harass Asian and female stars to the point of running them off Instagram and social media.
Yes they're toxic too.
shareinteresting theory, does that mean Alt-Right, MRA , NeoNazi, Incels also hated little white boys and old rich white guys? Because as far as I seen the most toxic the fans have ever been was treatment of Jake Lloyd and Lucas himself.
You know how you know that there is political messaging in the new Star Wars movies? it is because of how heated the division between the 'fans' has become. This post is a perfect example that Disney era Star Wars is riddled with modern political and cultural under-tone.
You must be something special.
I never heard anyone complaining about Boyega being in the movie but people were complaining, before the release of tfa, that boyega plays a stormtrooper - as the trailers gave the impression, which obviously would have been a problem with the SW lore, stormtroopers being clones of a rather Latino guy.
And people were complaining about valid points and SJW/progressive agenda, rightfully so.

'Star Wars is ANTI-WHITE' Twitter storm as fans boycott Star Wars over 'white genocide'
STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS is accused of promoting 'white genocide' with a black lead, John Boyega, and Jewish director, JJ Abrams. A Star Wars racism row has erupted on Twitter as enraged fans demand a boycott.

I don't use twitter.
Yeah, i was worried by boyega apparently playing a stormtrooper as well, for the reason i said. But i always said "if the justification is right i have no problem". And they introduced the character quite ok so no problem with me there. I've seen Boyega before (Attack the block) and i consider him at least a decent actor and he did a good job in SW as well.
As for your links ... i don't read subculture. Of course there would be idiots and racists that would say that but they are NOT representative for the big mass of fans.To complain about a black actor in a movie with jawas, twi'lek and wookies is quite idiotic and i don't take those complains in consideration. So, no, i didn't hear about them or if i read any i brushed off as too stupid to warrant my attention. The fans had real and justified issues with the SWJ trend in SW. Like the "affirmative hire" or Marry Sue Ray and more others. Or fucking space bombers in space ... in zero gravity. Or Leia suddenly being a Jedi Knight and mastering the force out of the sudden. Or the constant bashing of the men by the ... surprise (not) ... female leadership of the resistance. There are plenty of topics to complain about real issues.
"toxic" as it concerned to Star Wars, is a subjective term.
Those who love it, love it.
Those who don't (very very few) don't.
Its instinct online to put down any/everything.
I was in line for the first, ill be in line for the 9th (or 11th) hehe....could care less about the complainers.

It's just history repeating. Back in the days when toxic and racist 'fans' tried to destroy great movies like "The Room" or "Battlefield Earth" with their hatred and negativity.
share[deleted]
The Room sounds retarded, and Battlefield Earth was Scientology. Hardly "great movies"!
(I get you were sarcastic)
It's weird how time changes things. Growing up, a lot of members of this fandom were greatly compassionate because they were bullied for liking Star Wars and other scifi media. Now that the internet has given us all a voice, it feels like some of the bullied have become bullies themselves.
shareThe author is clueless. NPC refers to the leftist cult, nothing to do with Trump. The toxic fandom really started with the prequels in 1999. People were hating Jar Jar, before that Ewoks. Jar Jar was not PC at all.
Check out the Star Wars group archived at Google Groups, probably starts before 1990.
