I agree. Audience scores are either really inflated or deflated. there is never an in-between.
I'm trying to go for an entertaining, informative youtube channel so, if you have the time, take a look. Hope you enjoy what you see and if you have any thoughts or criticisms, i'd love to hear them. Thanks in advance. Review right here- https://youtu.be/nerCnafPUm8
178,869 people voted for TLJ and now none have any credibility because Jumanji is popular?
And it has 4.6 on Metacritic with another 6000 votes.
So who's 'wrong' here? The 358 'critics' or the thousands and thousands of ordinary people who paid to see it?
Face it - the sequels are terrible terrible films. They got away with it for TFA thanks to goodwill and nostalgia but that shit doesn't last forever. Now it's mostly gone. Can't wait to see the reception IX gets when they try to end this car crash of a trilogy.
Jumanji is at 90%. Have you SEEN that crapfest? Totally undermines the credibility of those voting there.
Think that most people watched Jumanji after having watched The Last Jedi, so it's a logic reaction. After eating shit, even a damn McDonald hamburger will look delicious.
Sure, but thats like, your opinion man. saying people are braindead for liking Jumanji is just arrogant and pretentious.
Its by no means a good movie, but I had fun with it because it knew what it was. I liked the actors and the story was fine. Just a laid back fun movie. Leaps better than the awful stupid fucking movie Rian Johnson made..
A movie has to be good in order to be fun? Is that what you mean? You aren't really clear yourself. But I will give you an example because you seem to be weak minded. An example of a bad movie that is fun is : The Room, from 2003. Surely Jumanji is a better movie than that, but its only an example. What I mean is that Jumanji wasn't a serious movie, or a serious franchise. Its just some action with action stars, cheesy dialog. Its MEANT that way. People knew this going in, and wanted this.
TLJ however was a genuine effort to create a serious storyline and movie, but fell flat on its face because it was horrible and nothing about it was fun or likeable. Audiences expected better. Audiences deserved better.
Please carry on.
No...I'm not "weak-minded". Words mean things. It seems like you and others want to have it both ways...too embarrassed to be boxed in as saying Jumanji is a good movie you went as far as to say "it is FAR from a good movie" then goes on to say "it's fun and the story is fine". Then you extrapolate about The Room and how these things can be. Let hyour words speak for themselves as they are certainly contradictory...my pretentious, TLJ- hating friend.
The truly "weak-minded" are those twisting words and logic like pretzel in order to not be quoted as liking Jumanji or thinking it is "good".
lol, you are the only one in here defending TLJ and hating Jumanji. I don't get why you are still so butthurt over the fact that people hated TLJ. Its dogshit. Just accept it and move on. Don't try to keep your thread alive be posting 10000 responses and even respond to your own original post. Nobody cares mate. Go watch TLJ if you like it so much. Time much better spend right? I mean you are certainly not here for honest debate, since you call everyone who likes Jumanji over TLJ 'braindead'. I'm sorry Jumanji didn't have the feminist themes you so desire. And I'm sorry Jumanji was actual fun to watch. I get that you feel cheated, but there will be many more movies coming out, don't worry about it.
A truly "lost soul" would seem to be someone on a board spending the precious minutes of their life continuing to trash a movie they supposedly hate well over two months after it's release.
I hope you were not thinking the Jumanji and TLJ held similar expectations. TLJ had a lot riding on it, people wanted to love that film, wanted to see the story continue for a variety of reasons, they wanted and expected a good movie. Jumanji is a cheesy action movie starring The rock, a sequel to a moderately enjoyable film starring Robin Williams. If it was at all entertaining it met or exceeded expectations. TLJ was disliked by a wide range of people that were expecting better. Jumanji has exceeded audience expectation which is matched by its surprisingly good box office performance.
So you didn't care about Snoke's background, Rey's lineage. Were hoping for a meaningless sequence like the casino side quest. Wanted to see Luke act out of character and never in action as a fully fledged Jedi. Rey learn the force and defeat highly trained guards by attacking a rock for 10 minutes as preparation. The slowest car chase in the galaxy. Almost no aliens of note and riddled with real world human issues?
