It's weird that it gets explained twice within 2 scenes really close to each other, that otherwise don't have much dialogue. Kinda felt like they only had Arquette for a day, didn't know what was gonna end up cut out, and resolved this by a bunch of lines regarding how Arquette's character was eaten, but they weren't able to cut those lines at the end.
