WHY were the female trogladytes eyes poked out??
When the O'Dwyer's and Chicory are fleeing the caves they pass by the pregnant trogladytes with tusks rammed into their eye sockets. I assume the males did this to them but why???

shareBecause the film maker wanted to make the situation look even more creepy.....
shareThey basically made them baby machines.
Disturbing yet awesome.
The way the Troglodytes were portrayed overall was like a cross between an Italian cannibal movie and the "Saturn Devoirs His Son" painting.

They were not trogs. They were abducted and mutilated humans. They were being used as human incubators. As to where the female trogs were, I've no clue. Just one of the things that made me dislike this film/.
Be cautious when you see a light at the end of the tunnel. It could be an oncoming train.
I assumed that the women saw how ugly and hideous the male trogs were...
and poked their own eyes out themselves!!!
For those saying that the women were just baby bags, in ancient societies like this, the men hunted and protected, and the women did pretty much everything else. There would be no logical reason to take their sight. I thought that was weird too.
