Spoiler: Ruined The Movie in Its Last 20 minutes

If you're going to show the most disturbing scene (scalping and full body dissection) I've ever seen in my many years of watching movies, foreshadow it a bit with a few gruesome scenes earlier in the movie so I know to stop watching the damn thing. I thought I was watching a western not Saw the 13th or some Eli Roth torture porn feature.

I think part of the reason it was so effective was precisely because there wasn't much of a heads up on what to expect in the film's final act. If a movie shows violence consistently throughout the film, we start to become desensitized to it after a while.

You'd feel cocky too if you were full of myself.
