They Wouldn't Kill Clair, Here's Why....

As a cult they follow a code. And for this cult, they have to kill after they light the red lamp. So there is a great chance Clair isn't dead and was let go by Pruitt.

reply

It's implied she's dead, Pruitt who was a psychopath, killed her, he said "she seemed to understand"

The last thing she said when she left was to Eden, who killed herself soon after, was "I'll see you again soon" hint, hint

reply

Every member of the cult was a psychopath, more or less, but Pruitt was apparently top of the bunch.

Fanboy : a person who does not think while watching.

reply

Killed her without anyone noticing, no car honking, relocated the car, and came back to the house right away. Not buying it.

Also, try using a spoiler-free title to your post. Thanks.

reply

I feel like they might have decided to really just let her go because not doing so would have dismantled the whole plan. I don't see how he could kill her without alerting anyone and stash her car in 1 minute. I honestly think she got lucky.

reply

Yeah, I go back and forth on whether or not she was killed. I'm rewriting some of what I wrote in another thread.

Evidence/Logic for Her Being Killed:

--Pruitt going after her and stopping her as she is driving away.
--Eden's line about seeing her soon.
--When things get nasty it's evident that Pruitt wants to kill everyone, caring less about his own "transcendence" or having it be peaceful.
--Wouldn't want to risk her bringing attention to what is happening in the house.
--Pruitt is a big guy. If Claire stopped the car and had it in park, I can believe that he could seriously injure her with just one well-place strike, even through a car window. Moving her car a few feet forward would put it out of sight of the house, and then her body could be stashed in the trunk. None of that would take very long.

Evidence/Logic for Her Not Being Killed:

--Claire was in her car. Pruitt would be taking some risks attacking her in that position because if she flailed around at all she could easily hit the horn, knock the car into drive, or take her foot off the brake and crash the car.
--Pruitt could have simply apologized to her. Taking some of the edge off would mean Claire would be less likely to go to the police or take any action.
--Again, Claire was in her car already. If Pruitt failed in his initial attack, she could easily drive away and alert the authorities.
--None of the characters ever allude to Claire again, not even something as simple as Will catching sight of her car parked somewhere.
--From Will's point of view we are able to hear when Pruitt calls after Claire. If she had cried out, I think Will would have heard it.

reply

I think Pruitt really just wanted to kill people though.

"He's just an old guy who loves pranks." "Sure sounds like God."

reply

unfortunately Pruit was clearly a pyschopath of some degree and its unlikely he followed the cult like beliefs as closely as the others

he seemed totally uninterested in sharing any of the cult information with the 'friends', unlike Eden and her new BF

he's killed before as well.

I think its almost certain he killed Claire. The director's show him stop her behind a fence for a reason and based on what we know about him... he isn't shy about attempting to strangle people

if he really did intend to kill himself later that night too, whatever logic they're going by where killing others before suicide is a bonus would mean that the more people he got rid of the hypothetically better for him (I guess?)

Claire is a goner

she fell through a hole, and was never seen again

reply

Pruitt snuffed Clair.

How do I know this?

They cast the guy who was hired to play the demonic clown/John Wayne Gacy on AMERICAN HORROR STORY, graced us with his intimidating presence in SHUTTER ISLAND and ZODIAC as Pruitt. That's why!! 😂

Then again, he played a PASTOR on MIRACLES FROM HEAVEN!
How krayzee is dat?? 😬

I will forever see Drew Carey's cross-dressing brother, Steve.

We've met before, haven't we?

Claire died, the filmakers revealed it in this article:

There was a deleted scene where they find her body, bleeding in a bush

I would NEVER trust the code of someone in a suicide cult. Obviously they are *beep* insane.
