Loved the foreshadowing to Civil War

same, hopefully all the focus collateral damage was to foreshadow the start of civil war.
shareThey can go to the source for base stuff and that's all that matters.
shareCivil War is going to take the world by storm next year. No other film is going to even come close. That is pissing off these angry DC fans because they know they have to fire off now.
shareMaybe a trillion dollars in the Disney bank from Marvel movies alone will stop the second guessers?
shareThat's what Barbra Billingley might have said once upon a time.
shareThe beauty of it all is that Ultron can easily return if they want to write it in to any Masters of Evil plotline in future phases.

I loved the links to Civil War, Black Panther and Infinity War. They are all very very subtle and that's what makes them great. No one can say AoU is a pure set up to more films because everything works all on its own. Yet, it does set things up to move forward.
I love how the big three left things off. Thor's joke about Tony and then that genuine moment between Steve and Tony is masterful.
I think it serves as a pure setup, which is why it was a big disservice to a character like Ultron who deserved at least 2 films worth of being a main villain.
Also, if you didn't get amped when Claire lit that flare, you have no soul.
Why does Ultron deserve more than one movie, while most villains only deserve one?
shareWell, how many has Loki had? How many did Harry Osbourne have? A villain with charisma and depth deserves an arc, not just half of a movie's plot while sharing time with setups and introductions.
Also, if you didn't get amped when Claire lit that flare, you have no soul.
The whole movie's plot was about Ultron. And Loki is not a better villain than Ultron. You only think he is because he has been in more than one movie. Harry has only been a villain in 2 spider-man movies that werent even part of the same universe. He doesn't deserve more than one. His father is more interesting. Harry was just being milked.

Even if it was more of the same, it is still a lot of fun and well done.

My understanding is that Whedon didn't know they were going to make Civil War when he wrote the script for Age of Ultron. That's interesting. I wonder how much he added later and how much is coincidence.
shareI don't think it's either: in the first film, there was a lot of friction between Steve and Tony. Only makes sense that it would surface again when things get tense.
Civil War is not simply about "You did this so I'm doing this!" It's about two guys whose philosophies have been fundamentally different from the start of the MCU.
At the quantum level, reality does not exist if you are not looking at it.
Civil War the movie is going to be ten times best than Civil War the comic book. That thing got away from its creators. By the time Spider-Man unmasked, it's like they were making it up as they went.
shareThe first Civil War trailer will for sure be attached to The Force Awakens in about a month or so.

Is Civil War going to be the greatest film ever to hit the big screen? I truly mean ever. In 100 years, I can't think of a more anticipated film.
I accept your surrender.
ha
Viking ash is indeed rare..... but all you really need is a burning viking corpse
Afterbuzz,
I respectfully disagree. Anticipation is PRECISELY why things FAIL! We anticipated The Mandarin & The Dark Elves & while it was fairly obvious who the villain was going to be in 'Winter Soldier' I'd wager that the average viewer was expecting Alexander Pierce to be the Red Skull & the longer production goes w/o naming Martin Freeman's character ANYTHiNG OTHER then Sen Del Rusk the harder it will be to convince us that HE *ISN'T* playing the part!
I fell asleep during INCEPTION BUT I FEEL like I still saw it!
I loved all the nods to Civil War as well.
If it's all the same to you, I'll have that drink now.-Loki (Marvel's Avengers)
Bleeding Edge Armor confirmed for Civil War!
Here is a description of the Bleeding Edge Armor from the Iron Man wiki...
“This armor made Iron Man the most powerful hero in the world. It can go toe to toe with Thor and savagely beat an amped Red Hulk. Its power source has been described as a man made star. This entire armor is kept inside Tony’s body until mentally commanded, at which point it manifests itself as the Iron Man Armor. The armor is made up of Nano-Machines that can now be commanded to turn into any type of structure upon Stark’s skin. For example, the Nano-machines can turn into clothes, other armors, or even different beings completely, by having the Nano-machines change their properties into whatever Stark wants them to be. It can also dissociate to transform into the Iron Man armor whenever Stark wishes. The armor and Stark’s own transhuman body are powered by the high-yield R.T. node mounted in his chest. The high output of the node has greatly augmented Stark’s intelligence and provided him with superhuman-level multitasking and learning capabilities. The previous armor , Extremis armor , was enough to defeat The Sentry , who was at the time the most powerful superhero in the world, and the Bleeding Edge armor was much more powerful than the Extremis armor so that implies that Tony can easily defeat the sentry while in the Bleeding edge armor which makes him far more superior than any of his enemies. The known weaponry includes repulsors, uni-beam, pulse bolts, tasers, and an energy blade. Defenses include deflector shields. Other type of weapons and upgrades seems to be created by Stark’s imagination, such as a boxing glove, large guns extending from his arms, or cannons. The suit’s repulsors, which are located around the knuckles, chest, back and legs of the armor, as well as in the traditional palms, now function also as cameras, or “eyeballs”, which afford Stark a 360-degree panoramic view around himself.”
You see even more of this in the deleted scenes. A few are already online.
Sebastian Stan was invariably asked about his thoughts and feelings on playing Bucky Barnes AKA The Winter Soldier! Did he know the plan all along for Bucky, or was he left out in the dark?
“It was a lot more like that. You know, I was in an office with Kevin Feige at one point and I remember they were educating me. I didn’t know anything. I didn’t grow up with comic books. I didn’t know anything about it. So, they were educating me about it going, “This is what happens with Bucky, he becomes The Winter Solider.” And I was nodding my head and taking it in going, “Okay, this is cool, but are you talking to me like I have this part of The Winter Soldier? Are you saying I should be excited? And actually earlier this year when Kevin came to the set of Civil War, I actually asked him, “How does it feel to come to this set and watch these people?” And he said to me straight, “Yeah, we were talking about it, but the truth is we didn’t know we going to be able to do it.” They didn’t really know they were going to be able to get to do Civil War. They didn’t even know they were going to be able to do The Winter Soldier,” stated Sebastian.
