Loved the foreshadowing to Civil War

He (Iron Man) will do anything to make things right.

We’re getting so much more of that Civil War lead up in the Agents of SHIELD TV show. Even in one episode, sides and registration is being lined up. They even had the president from Iron Man 3 making a speech saying almost as much.

Steve and Tony have clashed since the first Avengers movie. Steve believes in dealing with issues as they come, and Tony believes in ending wars before they start. They both believe the world needs protecting.

The viewpoints are common enough in our real world that neither side has to necessarily be "right" or "wrong". I think that's where the Civil War comics kind of lost their narrative-- different writers gave too much in terms of trying to convince us one is right and one is wrong when the truth is there's no right answer, all the time.

Cap is right that people die through many preventative measures. But Tony is also right that we should try to prevent death rather than simply putting out fires.

Either way, they are going to have to come together when Thanos, a real threat, comes along and threatens to destroy so much of the universe Tony and Steve will have nothing to fight over.

Okay, basically I'm excited. There.

Tony has grown in to a more sympathetic figure. Steve is Steve. Since Tony is the one showing growth, I wonder if the public will side with him more than Cap?

That's why Civil War is going to be so awesome.

Agreed. I'm expecting Civil War to be the REAL sequel to the first Avengers movie.

Just a continuation of the story like all great comic book arcs.

Civil War owes a lot of what it is to this movie.

It does!

I wish more filmmakers understood why, it is, Civil War got such stellar reviews but Age of Ultron was seen as middling-- Civil War focused almost completely on the CHARACTERS rather than the effects.

It got personal... and that's why Civil War was so amazing. The only character it didn't get especially personal for was Spider-Man but Tom Holland did such a great job with the character it's very easily forgiven he was basically just a cameo.

Yet, I was moved more than once watching Age of Ultron.
