Music changes everything, IMO

I saw this in the theaters when it first came out. I liked it, but to me, it was somewhat forgettable. I think Ashton Kutcher nailed the facial expressions and all. Now, Michael Fassbender 2 years later in "Steve Jobs" just killed it, again - in my opinion. He was brilliant. But, he's also a top-tier actor. The score in "Steve Jobs" was fantastic. But, I just watched THIS movie again last night for the first time I "think" since I saw it in theaters and I enjoyed it much more this time around. It was the score, without a doubt. Just this piece alone https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JG8WFGt7uZo was enough to really keep my interest.

Why would you watch an abhorrent movie about a douche actor playing an even more massive douche "visionary" (blegh)? Jobs was a HACK, a FRAUD, he STOLE all his so-called "ideas". I personally would piss on his grave with my catheters if I knew where he was buried.

I watch movies in the same manner that everyone else does: to entertain myself. Yes, Steve Jobs was quite the dick - but no one can deny that he put his proverbial "dent in the universe". Like he says to Woz in the "Steve Jobs" movie, "I play the orchestra". Can't deny that. And, holy shit, yes - Jobs and Gates stole their ideas. "Good artists copy, Great artists steal." Wasn't that Jobs' mantra?

Facebook? Technically stolen... so many other things as well. It sucks, for sure. But it's a part of our culture and history now. You might put "visionary" in quotes as you did, but he was that. He saw what many couldn't.

^ that? ;-)

Mythologizing people that are douches as you say was one thing when no one knew any better, but today I think things like reality and character matter. At least I hope they do. Right now we have a multi-billion dollar PR industry that is all about forcing us all to live in a world of BS, and if we disagree or go against it - even with proof and documentation, we are still screwed.

I think the point is that humanity is looking around in all directions to try to figure what is wrong ... and it is that we have to grow up and stop the mythology of the divine right of kings ... or in the 21st century the divine right of money and power.
