I can’t believe Frances Ha made Barbie

Frances Ha is one of the biggest losers in cinema history. She’s broke, she lives her life in black and white, and she maxes a credit card out just to go to Paris.

How in the hell did Greta Gerwig go from making this nonsense to getting to make the biggest blockbuster of the 2020s? How does she get to make a movie with Margot Robbie?? It’s not fair! So many other indie filmmakers are 10x more talented then her, and yet she hit the jackpot. To this day she’s one of biggest scams of the century. On top of Barbie, she ruined Little Women. She does not deserve her Oscar nods or her success. She’s a lazy filmmaker and I cannot fathom how she got so lucky.

Where are you getting lazy from? Disliking her work doesn't necessarily mean she's lazy.

I disagree with you in terms of her abilities, too. Although I haven't seen her latest work, I like her work as writer and actor in Frances Ha and Lady Bird. They're really good indie films. I get why Frances annoys people as a character, but Ignatius Reilly is an obnoxious blowhard jerkoff - I still love A Confederacy of Dunces.

Plus, she did some good, under-rated work in To Rome with Love. Maybe Woody's writing elevates, though?

With all that said, I haven't seen Little Women or Barbie, so I feel like I'm missing her biggest work.
