This is what I hate the most about Prometheus and Covenant: Characters making stupid decisions just so the plot moves on. Otherwise, there's no plot and no story, unfortunately.
Yes, Damon Knight called stories like these idiot plots. If the characters had half a brain, the story wouldn't be possible.
