Dot must have second sight

Or he read the script. He had no idea that Lindsay was going into that Inernet Cafe to access the duplicate List that Danny had left there. For all he knew she might have just been emailing a friend or looking for a job on the net. And how did he know that he had impersonated a police officer, he was in the car and didn't come into the cafe?

Answer: he didn't. So why was he waiting outside, why did he prepare the car with false plates and why did he have the gun?

He saw her showing what look like a police badge which she actually did.

It's that man again!!

reply

No he didn't, he can't have seen her doing that from over the road.

I'm guessing as he was so desperate that he would've had a pair of binoculars with him just in case.

Two for flinching!

Exactly. Also his plan in the beginning was to get her talking. That he did with the police badge thing. He found out what she knew and that was to much so he needed to shut her up, which took a toll at him. The first time really killing a good person(argually good).

I agree, but the whole series was dependent on such McGuffins and Deus Ex Machinas, enjoyable and all as it was.

reply

Agree, also Denton was sharp as a knife, she would have gone along with the bribe, probably tried to get more by offering more details as an incentive. Then she would have got him bang to rights in her own time as well as getting more info on the others that set her up.

They show a map and video clips during his interrogation. He was hanging around her apartment, waiting for her come out. He didn’t know she would go to the Cafe, but since he was tracking her, he saw her go there . Hence, he ended up at the Cafe

If she hadn’t gone to the cafe, he probably would’ve found some other way to get her inside his car to kill her. He seemed to determined to kill her that day, based on his call to Kate the night prior

As for how he knew she impersonated an officer, he might’ve seen her show the badge from his car window (he might’ve had binoculars in his car, as cops would need them during stakeouts / surveillance).
