How the Hell Did This Crap Break a Billion?

I don't understand the appeal.

reply

Exactly

If you're happy and you know it, go sit in the corner and think about your life.

Kids movie, best part of the series, and explained who they are. What more do you want from a kids movie?

reply

How about an actual plot?

Can we start there?

reply

Kids don't look for a Plot. More over Minions had a decent plot, how they were before the human civilization started, and how they met GRU. I agree that its not good as first 2 Despicable me movies, but it was a fun movie on its own

reply

Just because something is made for kids doesn't mean that excuses it from being bad. There are plenty of kids movies that have great plots; this certainly was not one of those movies.

reply

Because it was hilarious!! I laughed my head off.

reply

You are VERY easy to please then! ;)

I can understand the appeal because of the millions kids who loves the minions.
I am actually wondering more how a movie like Furious 7 could make nearly 400 millions more than Minions.
That movie is targeted at an age range, who actually should be more bright.

reply

I am wondering how crappy movie like Minions get $1 billion at the box office. Furious 7 deserves $1.5 billion from the box office!

reply

Minions are funny, so is Gru, but Scarlet and her husband they were soooo boring. Besides the plot was silly, and not silly funny.

reply

It's a great film for parents to take there young kids to see.

reply

I did just that today with my 3yo and he loved it! Some people need to realise that not every movie has to be a complex, multi-layered story.

But...this movie had almost no concrete story or narrative structure. It was very messy, incoherent and boring!

True.

I wonder the same thing about this and almost all the Pixar movies made today. Inside Out, Cars, Wall-E, and many many other worthless CGI animated movies. I feel like these writers and animators have all been smoking meth. All the hand drawn movies made so much more sense. If I manage to have kids of my own one day, I'll just collect all the old classics instead of taking them to see all these mentally retarded CGI pieces of sh*t!!

reply

Kids. Parents will do anything to either shut them up and keep them busy or spoil them rotten.
