Not Sure Why It Took Me All These Seasons To Realize Danny Is Awful

I mean I was always annoyed of him and thought he & Mindy were horrible together but him, Danny by himself as a lone character, is actually so awful. So misognyistic and basically allergic to strong women. The way he thinks he has ownership of Mindy to dictate who she dates, getting in Jody's face with that letter but hiding behind Leo's well-being as his reasons for doing it---I just really saw a lot of Danny behavior in this finale and it was extra disgusting. He makes Mindy so weak too.

Maybe it was made more apparent since he was gone for this back-half of season four so having him back was like a really big dosage of douchebagness. I don't know but I really hope he doesn't have a large presence in future seasons.

End rant.

I always loved Danny but I rewatched the show this week and knowing everything I know now, I really don't like him. His relationship with his mom is disturbing. He makes Mindy feel inferior. I thought I was going to miss him but the show has a lighter more positive tone now.

Truth be told, I had to see you one more time, even if it was from a distance.

I thought I'd miss him too (not his actual character but, I didn't expect to like the change) but now that he's gone I feel less exhausted watching the show.

I agree. For whatever reason, I discounted some of his initial misogyny back in season 1, like constantly calling Mindy Fat and the general way which he treated the women in his life, but I've gradually come to despise him.

I guess it's easy to write off a casual mean joke here and there, but when you develop a pattern, it starts to become disturbing.

I haven't been with the show since it started, I started binge watching it about two weeks ago and I have a few episodes left of season 4. I got a big dose of Danny from watching back to back episodes and I've never enjoyed his character. There were some nice moments with him and Mindy, but other than that he's disgusting, he was always so ashamed of her, treated her and her family like crap and he's so controlling and domineering. Blah, I'm glad he's gone.

I think I always knew he was awful, but I sort of assumed the temporary changes he went though in order to get Mindy would become more permanent.

they're not a good couple because danny is used to a higher level of woman,
and mindy only likes old white men

They broke up Mindy and Danny for a reason. He's not a great guy or good for her.

Danny has always been screwed up. Mindy did her best to save him... but in the end he reverted in a lot of ways. Danny is reflective of a lot of people where his issues where it's not just that he has them, it's that he refuses to treat it as a problem he has to change. He just walls himself off and pretends it doesn't exist.

Danny is horrible and always has been. His relationships with Mindy humanized him a bit but he is still horrible.

I have a lot of mixed feelings about this show but I loved the first half of the fourth season. Mindy figuring out that Danny is not good for her and that she is more than capable of figuring out how to manage her life and her son on her own was great to watch. I was excited to see some serious character growth in her.

But in the last part, we've lost a lot of that and there she is again, running after men who don't treat her well and trying to change herself to fit their perception of her. Sad to see that.

This thread memorializes the impact of the brainwashing of gullible people by social saboteurs pitting them against an entire gender. Enjoy the resulting misery. Men aren't women. Evil-intentioned people are making you believe that men should behave like women.

Some men behave like women, some women behave like men. That's been happening since time imemorial. What about it?
