So is this the end of the series or 3rd season?

Every loose ends were tied and main characters found what they set out to gain since season 1. Although i wish we could get more out of this fab show, the finale looks like a series finale.

I read in early May that a 4th and 5th season were commisioned. No details as of yet.

yeah, there was an article in the Radio Times that mentioned that Ripper street would be shown on BBC1 late summer/early Autumn, and that it'll return for at least 2 more series after that!!!
So series 4 and 5 are supposed to happen...

Just finished the finale. This information is a most welcome cascade of sunshine on the melancholy clouds I was left with after what appeared to be the last episode of such a fine show. I hope they keep the same show runner and director/s.

You may have already seen it, but IMDB now has a "placeholder" for a 4th season. :-)

I'll be interested to see it. Is Det. Drake going to be the new lead role or will Reid return to London? I would love to see more of Drakes life together with Rose.

According to a gent who runs a Ripper Street facebook page
"Series/season 4 in production, available next year!"

I hope so - haven't seen Season 3 yet as it isn't available on Netflix
but I just love this show!

It's been left wide open with Drake being inspector, even if the others don't come back.

Only those with no valid argument pick holes in people's spelling and grammar. 

It is back and Edmund is back too... so far season 4 is pretty good..

I agree that the end of season 3 was completely satisfying and I would have been happy to say good-bye to one of the best shows in the last decade.. however, I am happy to have the characters back...

I just hope that Amazon doesn't have a bad influence on the story...

Apparently they had good influence, season 4 is the best season yet. It's a masterpiece of storytelling and character development.

Where are you finding it to watch Season 4? I don't find it listed on Amazon Prime. I'm jonesing for more!

Sorry for the late response. It is on Amazon Prime, but maybe not in the US. It's definitely in the UK and I could see it with my German account.
