Although A:SW is 3y away they probably have to start filming soon as the post production FX stuff will probably take about 1-2 years, and there's availability/schedule of he massive number of actors to be slotted in, plus he's most likely going to film some stuff for Deadpool 3 around same time as will want them to coincide for training purposes (like when he did The Wolverine/Xmen Days Of Future Past back to back in 2013/14)
and Cruise will be looking for something even bigger after Top Gun Maverick so he'll probably want to be involved in MCU as alt Iron Man finally
