This was so terrible...

Lol,pos but I watched it with two friends right to the flag waving end. We all did some mst3k commentary and had a pretty good time. Although there's a sadness to this type of expensive, situational porn that begs the question of why this cheese at this time. Isn't there a kind of sickness in the appeal of this entertainment? Makers and consumers. Beyond keeping a straight face there's no acting, there's posing. After watching I just felt ashamed for my enjoyment of superiority and ashamed for all participants in this low brow thrill porn.
I know it's just a Hollywood movie and I should lighten up but really...lolpos that ultimately makes me sad. But someone else might really dig it.

It looked bad from the trailer. The film itself only confirms it. The fact of the matter is, if Dwayne Johnson is in a movie, there's 100% chance the movie is an awful low brain pile of moronic male testosterone crap packed with stupid bombastic action attempting to distract the audience from a bad plot and even worse execution.

Keep it civil. It's not that important.

What a disappointment... The CG was good but I was expecting a whole lot more than this. The Hoover Dam collapsed and they're walking around likes its no more than a fire hydrant going off!!! Hoover Dam holds back Lake Mead, 100 miles long and 500' deep!!! And we get a silly story about a family. If you want to see a drowning rescue watch The Abyss instead of this lame Hollywood cliche...

If they had replaced Dwayne Johnson with some no name actor I wouldn't have been able to tell the difference between this and some straight-to-Netflix garbage. That CG might have looked good in a theater but certainly doesn't translate well to a smaller screen.

same here. I just finished watching it with my colleague here in our nightshift ... it was so terrible: the acting, the scenario, the dialogue ... it was so bad. My colleague and I were also predicting the dialogues ... we laughed our a** off by making fun of the film the whole time.
I cannot believe that great actors like Paul Giamatti and Archie Punjabi had agreed to be part of this bullcrap!

Finally saw it. Holy hell is this ever terrible. Just really bad stuff. Hot women for sure, I rolled my eyes so much I got a migraine.

I laughed a lot watching this. It's movies like this that make me realize that all it takes is for someone to like you to get work in this town. I'm not surprised Carlton Cuse is listed as the screenwriter.
