Overrated I think

I was pretty pumped up to finally watch this one because I like to be disturbed, shocked, traumatized, brainfucked etc. But one thing that I don’t particularly like is being frustrated. And this one frustrated me on quite a few levels. Although the movie was well executed with good actors and everything, I feel like it was somewhat of a futile exercise in the sense that it wallowed and dwelled on that particular uncomfortable situation for 90% of the movie only to get the anti-climatic ending. My rating: 6.5/10

Well, clearly this movie has invoked strong emotion in you, so id say it suceeded in doing what it set out to do. And yes, you are supposed to be frustrated by how fucking stupid our society is and how everyone just lives in their own confirmation bias bubbles.

I thought the direction was sometimes rather clumsy but a great performance by Mikkelsen and some strong writing made it potent. Not the great film that some seemed to believe, but a haunting and powerful work. 7/10

I only watched it because it was on the IMDB 'Top Movies of All Time' list. Seems a bit of a stretch to me!

I just dreamt tonight I was having a steak in a fancy restaurant known to cook the best meat in the world.
I received a plate of what looked like a semi roasted beef slice with parsley.
I was still looking at it while thinking: it is always a bad idea to oversell anything. This might even taste ok, or even great, but rising the expectations so high is always the recipe for disappointment.

This is a good movie, maybe even great, but it should never be sold as a top movie of all times.
Of course you will enjoy it much less than me, when I watched it knowing nothing and with zero expectations.
I was very impressed.
