I hope this is not another hollywood movie's compassion for Japanese

I hope this movie doesn't follow the path of "a letter from Iwo Jima" which was very sympathtic to Japanese in WWII

In fact, so many Asian countries were suffering from Japanese' colonization and innocent ppl get either killed or slaughtered for horrible reasons such as human experient and Japanese Military Sexual Slavery, which they still claim that it was voluntary prostitution.

I feel like not many Westerners acknowledge this fact because they were busy fighting against Nazies, and they think all japanese did wrong was an invasion in pearl harbor,

Perhpas that's why I can't find any hollywood movies you can see from Nazi soldier's point of view.

It is a fact that Japaense kill around same amount number of innocent people as Number of Jews got killed by Hitler

I think the drop of Nuke on Hiroshima was definitely justifiable and American shouldnt' feel bad about it.

However, it is all done in the past, and i have no reason to hold hatred against inncent Japanese now, but when I still see Japanese politican and radical nationalists trying to deny what their ancestor had done before, it makes me puke.

If people would do their research on what happened with the attack on Pearl Harbor, they would know that the Japanese tried to honestly make a declaration of war on the US BEFORE the attack happened. That fact that government officials in Washington didn't express any haste in having the message translated is NOT Japan's fault. Besides the fact that Roosevelt wanted in the war on the Pacific side anyway. The reason that we don't hear as much about things from the Nazi side of things is because the destroyed alot of documents when Russia was pounding on their door step. Japan really didn't think they were going to lose, and had they done as one of their Admirals wanted to, they wouldn't have lost. American people need to educate themselves on BOTH sides of event that have happened in our country's history, instead of have a one-sided opinion.

This movie was a pleasant surprise. You guys have to watch it first before making assumptions about the subject matter.

So Japan tried to send a declaration of war in Japanese before Pearl Harbor? And the USA didn't get it translated in a timely manner, which makes the US responsible for the Pearl Harbor attack? Just for clarification, if a declaration of war WAS sent in Japanese, it's obvious that Japan was deliberately keeping the USA in the dark about her intentions. Japan had plenty of bilingual diplomats and military officers, and was perfectly capable of sending a declaration of war in English. I think you are talking out of your @$$, actually.

This is not a very clever post. In fact, it smacks of racism and definite ignorance. There's no denying the brutality of the Japanese military occupation during WW2 but ranting about it a generation later does little or no good. The issue of dropping the two nuclear bombs on Japanes which resulted in thousands of innocent civilian deaths will be debated for years to come but to laud this act and claim it brought the war to a close is dead wrong. Anami, the war ministe wanted to fight on and it wasn't until the Russian declared war that the war council heeded the Emperor's plea to "...bear the unbearable.

You would do well to review some facts before posting such an illiterate and misinformed message as this.

nobody can't deny what they did in China or Korea.But yu shouldn't forget that US nuked Japans just for demonstration against USSR.Also They freed a couple imprial colonies.

Japan has made more reparation than the Germans and have apologized many times. I'm sure the OP's country brainwashes him/her to hear otherwise.

whatever Kool-aid that you are drinking, you should pass it around to all the Japanese that still think Japan did nothing wrong,so you can have a Jones-town party.

Japanese Military Sexual slavery just like the rape of Nanking is one of the most humanely despicable and atrocities committed by the Japanese, as well as the routine beheadings.

I am REALLY tired of all the arguments that keep on repeating innocent Japanese civilians died due to the nukes, how are they innocent when they were brainwashed by propaganda into thinking that Americans have horns and that the Emperor is a god, so committing these genocides against other Asians were OK.

To end all debate I will end with this, terrorists always claim innocence when caught.

Any civilian murdering, be them any race of nation, is bad. You justify murder because you perceive all the people were brainwashed? How is Chinese civilian murder bad, and Japanese OK? No civilian murder is "justifiable". You seem like a racist, because you legitimize death of one people over that of the other. All civilian murder is unjustifiable. There is not a single country in the world that does not have *beep* ignorant people and at some point has not done something evil in their history. Nationalists teaching history like they do in many Asian countries is the reason racist hatred is passed on from generation to generation. If people didn't keep thinking their nation and race were God's gift to earth, maybe we could get along more. People need to get their heads out of their asses.

what in the world are you guys thinking? i really cant believe there are people naive enough to think WWII actually happened. its a lie. it was filmed in a back lot in hollywood. there are no shadows in any of the footage at all. back then every one wore a hat of some sort and you can clearly see people not wearing hats. and any way what movies sympathize with the japanese or any other race for that matter? only the clint eastwood film, and thats only cause its told from that side. so actually its a loaded question. hollywood doesnt make movies about the horrors or compasions of war very often at all. usually a war movie is just an action movie. the movies your talking about are made outside the hollywood system.

Every country has nationalists. For every bad thing that has every happened in world history, there are those who will deny or change it. Every country has them.
As much as Japanese murders in China were not justifiable, so was the atomic bomb not justifiable. There is no "justifiable" killing of civilians.
