Patsy scene most f'd up I've ever seen in film

I've actually seen worst scenes than that in films, but even I couldn't watch that scene where Patsy got beaten, straight up. I just flat-out couldn't do it, so I just closed my eyes until it was over---frankly, that was too painful and horiffic to watch. I do feel, however, that it was necessary for the film to show how brutal slavery was---especially for people who think that slavery was no big deal, or that it couldn't have been that bad for the slaves---but it really was. And it was even more painful because she had really done nothing to deserve that---that only happened because her bastard of a master thought she'd been with another man--what an a**hole. It was good to find out that in real life, the slaves on that plantation were freed during the Civil War---a decade after Northup was able to escape.
