This deserves a way higher rating than 6

Thrilling and captivating story that was very well done. Cage did an awesome job this time. I felt like Cusack's character was just ok for the most part but got better towards the end when the intensity really started to escalade. Surprisingly superb acting from Vanessa Hudgens. I never took her seriously before but she definitely displayed way more talent and depth in her role in this movie that would put her above her peers from that silly mindless spring breakers movie. The movie had some real intense moments, and it captured the mood very well. Overall i really enjoyed the movie, it deserves a rating way higher than 6.2.

I enjoyed this movie a lot, I remember watching the original documentary on Discovery channel and they did a pretty good job with the film. I thought Hudgens was great in this! Nicholas Cage wasn't too bad either, Cusack, agree with a previous poster, he got better towards the end.

Disagree. This movie is steeped in Hollywood BS. Vanessa Hudgen's character is completely annoying, and the only reason I didn't want her dead by the end was because I didn't want Hansen to get away with it.

Most of the characters are completely unbelievable. For whatever bizarre reason, no one in the movie other than Nic Cage and his sidekick seem even remotely concerned that there is a serial killer operating in their midst. They are all more determined to talk Cage out of his investigation than they are actually catching the guy preying on their wives and daughters.

My favorite was when the DA tells Cage- "If this doesn't work, we'll never get in there again." Hahaha.... That's idiotic.

With proper probable cause, they could search his house next week again if they wanted to.

As a psychopath, Hansen probably forgot Cindy even existed let alone going after her.

They also totally failed to convey who Hansen was or the horror of what he did. They showed him kidnap only one girl, and he showed zero sexual interest in her. Yeah, the part when he shot her was disturbing, but that was it.

Great performance by Cage, great backstory and tremendous Alaska cinematography wasted for the most part.

Poor writing ruins all.

If thousands of viewers of the movie "voted" for it to be in the 6 range - then how can you say that it deserves better? Are you saying that your own personal "taste" in movies is better or more important than other people's?

The movie got a 6 rating because that's what the majority of people thought of it.

Pretty arrogant of you to think that your opinion is more valid than thousands of other people's.

I think 6.4 is an appropriate rating for this film. Above average, dark and midly interesting, but not exceptional or unique.

I would agree it is deserving of a higher rating that 6.4 (currently), one of Cage's better recent efforts, Hudgens was suprisingly good, Cusack very creepy - was an under rated film in my opinion.
