Wouldn't it be kind of like the group in "Hostel" where you have to kill someone to get in? By the time you get through the game and win, you've killed at least one person (maybe more) so you're guilty of murder.
Sure, you COULD get a deal of immunity in exchange for testifying but then their lawyer could call that into question at trail and COULD get off, leaving them free to not only send someone to kill you but move the operation and start up again elsewhere.
Even if they DID get convictions they could send someone to kill you anyway and even if all that wasn't enough you would lose whatever you gained from them in the first place. Yeah, in her case it wouldn't matter so much because her brother killed himself but other people most likely needed that money for very good reasons and, even with her brother dead, she still have a pit of debt to deal with and her own involvement in murder (see above).
Not defend the movie, it DID have issues, just saying. :)
