Has the series become better after Selma Balir's departure?

When Anger Managment started it was boring, had very slim plot lines, supporting cast was unlikebale and only watched it for Charlie.

But, since the departure of Selma Blair,I think the series underwent a makeover. They turned Charlie's character to what it was on 'Two and a half men'.In fact he even started dressing like him, more mileage to the supporting cast who have responded well and have become likeable, less for his ex-wife and daughter which is good, introduced the english guy,the new girl and Martin Sheen as regulars and voila the show is so different. The script has more depth and plot lines are better and for a change it is funny! The writers must be different as well as the sitcom is something to look forward to whereas earlier it was very drab and something to get through.Good job Charlie!

If I would be a critic, I would say the writing could be better but despite that I still think it's a good show. I watch it every time and can't get enough of it.
Charlie is a funny guy.

I thought it got worse but not necessarily because of Selma Blair leaving(although I really liked her character) but mostly because they changed the main character so drastically that it may as well have been another show. I even read an interview where Charlie Sheen called it "Anger Management 2.0".

I finally started watching the show and really liked what I've seen so far but have just gotten a little bit past where Selma Blair's character left and I am unsure that I like the direction the show took. I'll give it a little bit longer but I'm not optimistic. I'd like to see a little character growth with Charlie but have a feeling he's just going to be a drunk in dire need of help for the rest of the series. I'll soon find out though...

You asked this over two years ago, but I'll answer anyway. My opinion: the series didn't become better, but it wasn't because of Selma Blair's departure. Laura Bell Bundy's neurotic, desperate-to-be-liked character was funnier than Blair's dark, moody ice queen, but the show also got rid of the daughter, gave less time to the ex-wife, and started to revolve a lot more around Charlie the party animal. The strength of the show was the entire cast, and when it started to be more and more about Charlie it got worse.

Overall, I really liked the series anyway. It ran 100 episodes and I only disliked one of them (the episode where Charlie was trapped in a dream).

Personally I think Selma's character was dragging down the show, and was glad that they got rid of her. However I didn't like the fact that they got rid of his ex wife and daughter. I thought they made his character a more likeable one than Charlie Harper.
