I was not a fan of the book but I think it worked brilliantly as a movie. Starz has it On Demand right now....I watched it two times back to back then again the following night.

JJ Feild.....mmmmm

That building is also a Starbucks?

Yes.

Is there a law?

My husband and I were laughing throughout the whole thing; it's so silly and fun, I loved it!

I did not go into watching this movie with any pre-conceived ideas. I enjoyed it except 'Martin' obnoxious singing was a bit much! Being a cad and having a highly competitive streak was enough to make him an antagonist for the story without making him even more ridiculous with the over the top singing. It was distracting.

I am a huge Jane Austin fan, however, this wasn't really about Jane Austin or even the stories she created. This story was about Jane accepting herself, what she wanted in life, and even actually finding it once she had accepted it.

Let me just say, there is something very sexy about a man who can actually ride and handle a horse! Talking about JJ Field here though Bret McKenzie seems comfortable enough with them. Maybe it is simply that I grew up with men who could ride being a third generation Coloradoan, but that is a very enticing skill!!

(I know it probably wasn't JJ who was galloping up to the house, but he was riding and it was apparent he can ride well.)

Honestly this is one of my new favorites, I was expecting a pleasant movie, nothing spectacular. That's what I got before Jane entered Austenland but when she entered it that's when I fell in love with its premise and the comedy is way more thoughtful and more consistent than the mainstream comedies you get from Hollywood especially since as I type this "Get Hard" comes out tomorrow and it'll probably won't be nearly as consistently funny as this movie. I'm surprised it went under the radar as it did for me.
