My wife made me watch this on Valentines Day and I fell asleep.
The next night we tried again and I couldn't keep my eyes open. She has seen it six times and loves it.
Guys stay far away from it. It's not the worst movie ever, but there are better movies guys and girls can watch together.
My girlfriend and I watched it together, and both loved it. Oddly enough, I'm more the Austen fan than she is, and I was the one who suggested it. ;-) I'm one of those weird guys who loves science fiction, violent action, adventure, excitement AND period drama. :-)
I've just read an action packed fantasy novel, and I'm now moving onto Mansfield Park, as I've not read that yet. ;-) I don't think there's anything wrong with enjoying any story, as long as it's well written and enjoyable.
I'm a straight guy, married to a woman for decades, and I like movies like this. I'm a huge Austen fan, and have read all of her books and published letters. I also like ballet. Movies with relentless action, fighting, explosions, etc. put me to sleep.
