I read about this case about two days ago and by chance the movie came on tonight here in the UK and I watched the movie and they went through the conversations showing how he persuaded them to do all of the stuff they made Becky do but when it came to the fellatio scene it felt like they just stuck it in there. Any reason for that do you think?
Feel free to attack me for this but was Louise Ogborn a mentally stable adult to go along with all of this because the moment they asked me to strip I would be in panic stations. Why didn't she just walk out and let the police come for her? Why the *beep* did she sit there, let the husband spank her and blow him? There is something off about this incident if you ask me and it can't all be down to human stupidity.
The husband had to be in on this. I am sure he only let her give him head because he was being a good citizen...
I think that he WANTED to believe it so he could get it, if that makes sense. Its a nice excuse if you are not 'to blame' and some one esle is telling you to do something. that is how i took it.
exactly. He was getting free head from a hot 17 year old and was hoping it would be excused by "I was just following orders". I think he was stupid only in the thinking that he was gonna get away with it by claiming "I didnt know any better". Whats interesting is he made a plea deal which means he had to admit guilt. I'm just wondering what the outcome of the case would be if he didn't admit guilt. I don't really know of the facts that lead to the oral sex incident which kinda sucks as thats a pretty important part of this case and I guess we won't either considering the guy pleaded guilty.
I'd really like to know what was going on in the head of the 17 year old girl during all this. Was she just so dazed that she commited the sex acts with out resisting or was she actually forced. I morbidly wish I could find the whole CCTV video caputure now cause.
No, the manager's "boyfriend" wasn't in on it. However, the only way his compliance makes any sense at all, is that he actually 'wanted' to do all that spanking and fellating stuff and the authority figure "gave him the permission" to go through with it. Otherwise, there's simply no way anyone, however stupid, would carry out these outrageously preposterous, perverted orders and listen the supposed cop talk total gibberish, like the bit about corroborating the look of her nipples with the witness testimony lol.
I still can't believe that in real life the boyfriend/fiancé only got five years. Furthermore, I can't believe that people have compared this guy to the Nazi soldiers and prison guards at the concentration camps during World War II. This guy was on the phone not even for an hour with the caller while the soldiers and guards were part of a military organization and were indoctrinated by the Nazi party for years.
Why did the boyfriend get 5 years? Did the real-life guy do something that wasn't shown in the movie? The movie boyfriend may have liked it but they portrayed it as though he was basically "raped" as well, in that he tried to get out of it at first and only started going along with it after the officer threatened him for drunk driving. So his excuse is exactly the same as hers, he thought it was a real cop and he just did what the cop said.
Yes, he did. And no, he only did what was shown in the movie. Which is bad enough, no ?
It's been a few months since I watched it but iirc the guy in the movie was "raped" in the same way the girl was. At first he was like "no way, I'm not doing that" and he didn't want to do it, then the fake cop threatened to arrest him if he didn't, so he started going along with it.
It was exactly the same thing with the girl - she didn't want to do it, then fake cop threatened her, so she started going along with it.
Yeah the guy started liking it once they got started but I don't think that plays a part in the legality of it, as far as I know the "but you liked it so it doesn't count as rape" excuse isn't accepted as a defense, so just because the guy liked it doesn't mean he's now the predator. If the cop wasn't threatening to arrest him he wouldn't have done any of the sexual stuff. So it's actually the cop who "raped" both of them, and neither of the participants did anything wrong.

This is one of the more mind-boggling posts I've read on here. Of course he did something wrong, which is why the real guy got a five-year prison sentence for it. And it has nothing to do with "liking it". He could have been getting traumatized by the experience, and it makes no difference. It was on him to determine that he was under no obligation to rape someone.

I know I am late to the party, but I think you are missing something. That dude has been indoctrinated from childhood that "The Police is your friend" "Obey the Police" etc, which is essential in creating a slave society, "respect my authoritah" and all that. See Jeremy Benthams and Michel Foucaults musings on society, and the Panopticon in particular. Then just sit back and exploit the mechanisms explored in the Milgram experiment.
In the CCTV footage you can actually see him quickly covering the 17 year old girl with an apron when his girlfriend walked in the office. Also notice that after the other woman leaves he positions himself to block the door so as to limit future interuptions. Also note during the oral sex point he's totally blocking the door and is actually pressed against the door nob. He totally knows what he's doing and is being a predator.
Read about learned helplessness on wikipedia. And a bit about mind control and intimidation. She was a victim. She had been accused of being a thief, threatened to go to jail and lose her job (in a small rural area), and beaten. By the last point, she was probably scared witless. Many strong people wouldn't have fallen for it (and many didn't), but this girl was very vulnerable, and had the bad luck of falling into the hands of a brutal manager and her bastard boyfriend.
I agree with you. They just jumped to it without portraying how "Officer Daniels" sold it. I bet they wrote and filmed dialogue for that, but it just didn't sound at all plausible so they cut it.
I thought, given the long setup for all of the other "requests," that the jump to fellatio was rather abrupt too. On the other hand, the Becky character was pretty well psychologically broken down by that point (and I thought Ms. Walker did an excellent job of conveying that by her facial expressions, posture, etc.) and most her are probably correct the guy, at least subconsciously, just wanted "permission" to get blown by a hot 17 year-old.
