Mitch Rapp begins!

OK, let me kick this board off. I am about 150 pages from the end of the latest Mitch Rapp novel which is also his origin story.

There aren't that many 20-something actors I can think of who could play Mitch Rapp but the one that keeps springing to mind is Sean Faris who starred in MMA movie Never Back Down. He is dark featured, a genuine jock and looks about college age. Whilst I always picture the older Rapp as a mixture of Karl Urban, Dylan McDermott and Jeffrey Donovan, I think Faris has the right stuff to play Rapp on his first adventure.

I could also see Jill Wagner as Irene Kennedy and Scott Glenn as Stan Hurley.

I would use Greg Plitt as Rapp. He is feakishly good looking and was an airborne Ranger. Also graduated West Point. He would be perfect. I like Jody Foster as Irene.

Just googled Greg Plitt. He's 6'1 195.....you may be on to something here.

I think foster is too old to play Kennedy in AA though. Later on they only mention Kennedy being a few years older than rapp, so when he's in his early 20's in AA she should only be in her late 20's.

All I know is I can't wait for the film and I can't get enough of his books.

I couldn't possibly think of who could play rapp, but reading the books i only imagine Joan Allen as Kennedy. Seeing her on the first three bourne movies she had that's look.

After looking at a bunch of the 20-25 aged actors that could play Mitch Rapp I keep coming back to Steven Strait. He's 6-2 and has the leaner build of a triathlete but has shown the ability to add some bulk for some of his roles. His IMDb pictures make him look a bit soft but if you google (images) him you will see that he has the ability to look rougher and also could pull off the Persian look.

I'm hoping they don't get this one wrong... they've got the potential for a box office smash hit with the popularity of the Vince Flynn novels.

Scott Glenn as Hurley works for me....

Irene Kennedy is a tough one... maybe Nikki Reed

Scott Glenn?? He's 71 years old! Steven Strait however... He's growing on me. I think he could pull it off. Better than freaking Thor at least.

I think Liev Schreiber would be a good fit. He's got the appearance, the size, and he's an established actor that the audience won't have any pre-conceived ideas about. What he doesn't have is the 'name' to draw people, so the supporting cast would have to be strong.

Jeremy Renner is possibly an option as well. He has a bigger name, but he doesn't really have the 'look'.

The rumor is that Willis will be playing the role of Stan Hurley (which would make sense). I'm gussing that Liam Hemsworth will tie up the role of Rapp... he's got the following of the youth movement after hunger games and is on his way up the ladder of success... Sounds like they are going to start shooting next fall (2013).
