Don't ask me to explain why. It just made me feel that way in the last 15 minutes that I kept thinking of BSG.... Especially the final 15 minutes...
I'm wondering why couldn't the biblical ark have been a spacecraft that took us to our current Earth?

LOTR - the look of the film. the forest. the cgi battle crowds. The Watchers were kind of like the Tree guys
Star Wars - some of the imagery, the landscapes and the characters had a star warsian feel
Gladiator - Noah was very 'Maximus' in certain scenes (also reminiscent of Jor El just the previous year)
2012 - basically a modern day version of Noah
