What was the purpose of Sarah's approach to Virgil?

At one point, Sarah approaches Virgil to let him know that Robert talks about Clair.

I don't see how this could help them with their scheme or how this integrates in the general plot. Am i missing something?

Another thing that i didn't quite get is what was the numbers the handicapped lady owner was always calling, at the bar across the villa.

And last but not least, why didn't Virgil enter to the police station? We see him in front of it with a flashback of making love with Clair. what led him to believe she will wait for in Prague?

Please share your thoughts.

Thanks.

I see it as nothing more than a plot device to get us to suspect Robert and "Claire" as Virgil clearly does when he dissolves his relationship with Robert. It gives us a reason to pay more attention to see if Robert or "Claire" slip up on their (supposed) secret relationship.
