DCU Batman & Robin movie announced - 'The Brave and the Bold'

The Brave and the Bold: “This is the introduction of the DCU Batman,” said Gunn. “Of Bruce Wayne and also introduces our favorite Robin, Damian Wayne, who is a little son of a bitch.” The movie will take inspiration from the now-classic Batman run written by Grant Morrison that introduced Batman to a son he never knew existed: a murderous tween raised by assassins. “It’s a very strange father-and-son story.”

And, importantly, it will feature a Batman not played by Robert Pattinson…

The Batman sequel: Pattinson will continue to portray the Dark Knight in at least one more crime saga movie directed by Matt Reeves. That movie, the executives revealed, will be released Oct. 3, 2025 and is being titled The Batman Part II.

“2025 is going to be a very big year for DC,” crowed Safran. “Superman and Batman within the same year.”

Maybe he can include Bat-Mite to make it “hardcore”.

reply

Weird they go with Damian Wayne right away and not Dick Grayson as Robin.

reply

Yeah, that caught me off guard when I watched the Gunn reveal. But maybe they wanna tackle something new. And if they're going for an experienced Bruce Wayne, then maybe we'll be seeing a Batman that's already gone through multiple Robins. Which is fine for me; I'm still disappointed we won't get to see the battle-hardened Batfleck, but maybe we'll still be getting a Batman that's been around the block.

reply

Indeed. I'm not too bothered by the thought of multiple Batmen running around.

How many versions of Robin are there now?

My picks for the DCU Batman

-Oliver Jackson Cohen
-Jensen Ackles (I know he’s nearly 45, but he’d be great)
-Alan Ritchson
-Jamie Dornan
-Theo James
-Nicholas Hoult (needs to bulk up though)
-Richard Madden

Armie

Well, that wouldn't be the first time WB cast an actor embroiled in controversy. From sean's list, Oliver Jackson-Cohen would be a solid pick.

reply

Hmm, I don't think I've seen Hoult play a role where he would look intense enough to be Bruce Wayne/Batman.

I might change my tune with the new mission: impossible though; he's a villain right?

Dude, Oliver Jackson Cohen and Theo James would both have my vote. Cohen needs more opportunities to shine, and I hope he doesn't get typecast as a villain lmao

reply

Hoult is not in Mission Impossible, we'll he was meant to but had to drop out due to scheduling clashes

reply

LMAO, gawddamnit, I'm stupid. haha I was looking forward to that still.

reply

I'd just bounce Henry Cavill over to the role. He's be a great Batman too.

reply

That would be terrible. Not because I dislike Cavill, but because Batman and Superman shouldn't be interchangeable. If you're casting people who could play either role, you're not doing it right.

reply

"The Brave and the Bold" sounds like the title of an afternoon soap opera.
